I think the cut, colour, and print on the first one don’t read as formal (gorgeous summer dress though). I think sweat will be very apparent on the light coloured silk slip dresses (I, for one, sweat like mad at destination weddings) but they’re beautiful. Silk is amazingly light and breathable in hot weather. Excellent fabric for a beach wedding IMO but perhaps a different style or colour, and / or shape wear underneath to absorb the sweat and smooth everything out? ETA: more than one layer of silk will be better for not showing sweat. Patterns/printed fabrics and darker colours also disguise sweat. A slit helps avoid overheating when wearing longer dresses / gowns. Polyester is likely to be the hottest and most uncomfortable fabric you could potentially choose to wear. Silk can be expensive, and buying secondhand from sites like Poshmark really helps keep costs down (consignment stores can also be great but perhaps hard to come by in smaller towns) if that’s a priority.
