Stuffed animals. Ehats your goal? Hay will be really heavy. Also decomposes. Do you mean straw? That will degrade over time into smaller and smaller bits. I have one of those stuffed animal storage beanbag chairs and use it to store spare blankets and comforters. So they stay clean but can still be used to sit on. So maybe get a bunch of comforters from goodwill and stuff it up? More on reddit.com

I like the shredded memory foam. We bought a giant beanbag when our couch delivery was delayed and it still fluffs up like new after a couple of years of being smashed by kids daily. It's comfortable without the crunching/squeaking haha. I would contain it in some kind of liner, though, because depending on the brand the pieces can be very small. (Our beanbag was from Ultimate Sack and they sell filling, I've bought shredded memory foam off Amazon to use for stuffed animals since). More on reddit.com
