from the reviews i’ve seen on furniture orders of the new bbb (formerly known as overstock.com), it sounds like customer service and returns are an absolute nightmare; google search bed bath and beyond reviews from the last 4 months or so (most accurate and recent), and that should make your decision easier, lol More on reddit.com

Since you placed the order online, we can look up your order. It will find the full order receipt, show when you purchased it, and how you paid. Unfortunately, none of this changes the return policy. You would be held to the policy that was in place at the time you made the purchase (which was 180 days then, not the 90 it is now) that would make the deadline June 2020, but then BBB added another 60 days to that window due to being closed for covid. So that made the deadline August 2020. You are now 2-3 months past that. The system will not allow a return. But for future information, you will be credited back from a refund however you originally paid, so in this case you would’ve received the money owed back to your credit card. aw that rly stinks. been there with stuff from Target….. bring it back to a BBB near you and explain you ordered it online and got sent a used one. in all my years working for this company, i’ve seen this once or twice. i’ll say this, if customers were honest about returning stuff, this wouldn’t have happened! people tell me all the time that the item they are returning, wasn’t used. i always check returns to make sure it’s okay to return to the floor. some people just check real quick without actually inspecting.

but like i said, def take it back to a store! explain the situation, nicely, of course. they will be more than happy to help you get a new one. but rly, don’t take it out on the employees.
