I guess I'm feeling a little skeptical about at-home remedies, since famotidine hasn't done much, and neither did the brief courses of Omeprazole they gave me before I got pregnant. I've been on a very strict low acid diet, with only slight improvement.
Has anyone found that raising the head of their bed actually helps their LPR, specifically?
UPDATE: Thank you, this has been tremendously helpful! I tried the wedge again last night, and my reflux was a bit better, but it was uncomfortable and I kept waking up to move around. I'm going to get one of the long, gradual, under-the-mattress wedges that someone recommended, instead of raising the head of the bed with risers. It's just a wooden slat bed, so I'm worried about putting extra pressure on it and breaking it. We'll see how it goes!

I couldn’t be without mine. Prior to knowing I had reflux ( started off silent) I kept aspirating in the night. Bought a wedge and it helped but I kept getting sore from the positioning. Now have bed risers ( you can buy them online) and it’s great as your whole body is on a slope so it feels like you’re laying flat. I’ve heard/ read that the wedge pillows can increase intra-abdominal pressure which can make reflux worse if you have things like a hiatal hernia. Not sure how much of it is true but I have found greater improvement from the bed risers than the wedge. Hope that helps

Hello. I'm finally going to buy something to get myself elevated while I sleep so I can hopefully get off the PPIs. I am debating between a huge wedge that goes under the entire mattress (such as https://www.amazon.com/Avana-Mattress-Elevator-Incline-Support/dp/B077KHHG7K?th=1) or a wedge pillow (such as https://medcline.com/products/medcline-reflux-relief-system).
I'm curious to hear from anyone who has either (or similar) product. Do you like it? Do you wish you'd bought the other product instead? I think one big advantage the pillow has is that I can take it with me if I'm traveling. Another concern with the under-mattress option is that while I'm single, I may have someone over at some point and we may have sex. Would having one end of the mattress elevated 7 inches be awkward/uncomfortable/weird for them? Would I possibly need to put the under-matress incline in the closet before, and then put it back before bed? Thoughts?
Also, does anyone have recommendations for pillows such as I linked that are cheaper but just as good? Thank you all

I am really happy with the under mattress incline I use. Anything solution that doesn’t incline the whole bed is going to be hard on your back over the long run. Some people get used to it but it was hurting my back and my shoulder, and I could slide down far enough to lose the incline while sleeping too. Total mess in comparison to the incline.
