I am looking to repaint a room but I don't want to spend a fortune on paint. I am looking to go with a light yellow over a blue/green color. I can either buy paint with primer in it or buy primer separately. I've heard Sherwin Williams make great paint at a decent price. Looking for any recommendations!

the cheapest 5 gallons of paint to buy is the most expensive 5 gallons of paint you'll ever buy. Expect to do 3 coats and have it still look like garbage. You'll likely need more paint than you would if you bought good paint in the first place, quite possibly enough to cost more than just buying the good paint in the first place (not even accounting for your labor). just don't buy cheap paint, it's not worth it.

Brand doesn't matter so much, but don't buy the cheapest line of any paint brand. I use SW BM Regal Select in my house, but Behr and Benjamin Moore SW make great products as well. Paint + Primer is not as good as separate products. If you need to prime (bare drywall, joint compound, or drastic color change), use a primer first as it's much cheaper than paint, and will give your paint a better surface to adhere to. Prep work is 90% of painting. Make sure you fill all holes, sand smooth, and clean all dust off the walls before painting and you'll be good to go.
