Ok this post is long winded and I'm sorry lol. I'm a huge Lowe's fan and I hate Home Depot. HD customer service over the last few years has totally sucked and I told myself I'd never go back. Well, the other day I was at a doctor's appointment 45 minutes away from any Lowe's but on a time crunch to paint my son's bedroom, so I sucked it up and went to the nearby HD. Their paint was cheaper than Lowe's so I went for the Behr Marquee and went to work. It only took one coat and it looks SO GOOD. It's even, smooth, and I did a perfect job cutting in the trim. HOWEVER.. the color is much darker than the sample was and I absolutely hate it. But I don't want to go back to HD. I've used Valspar before, the white and blue tins, and the paint is much thinner and always requires two coats, which doubles my painting time, and still doesn't leave me as proud of a job well done as Behr did.

Are HD Behr and Lowes HGTV high end interior paint really better than high end Sherwin William and Bejamin Moore?
For two straight years, 2022 and 2023,the high end Home Depot Behr and Lowes HGTV interior paint dominated the Consumer Reports interior paint ranking.
They didn't just win, they won by noticeable margin in total scoring. Is it really the case? Has the high end Behr and HGTV really improved that much to outperfomr even those $100+ per gallon sherwin william or bejamin Moore paint?
