One other thing to note: Behr Premium Plus actually does one coat coverage better than Marquee UPW, which obviously is from the fact that it has black pigments in it for coverage. I’d say the Premium Plus white is significantly easier to work with and just do a one coat and be done. Marquee UPW needed two coats otherwise you see roller lines. More on reddit.com

It depends on what color you're painting and what color you're painting over. Generally plan on two but if dark colors are involved you may need three. It can also depend on how thick your coats are. Just do two and if it still looks like another is needed after do a third. More on reddit.com

We live very close to HD so would like to stick with something that they sell. I've been doing research on premium plus and it seems to be very polarizing paint. Some people say it's great and it's the only paint they use and other people say it's absolute dogshit.
Just trying to get an idea of what people here think about it and if there's maybe something else they'd recommend from HD.
Edit: Seems like most people recommend going with Sherman Williams or Moore instead. I'll have to see what else is available nearby.

Behr paint is absolute garbage unless its the super high end Dynasty imo Behr and Lowes Valspar looks like plastic And tbh, Benjamin Moores superhide and ultraspec is the same quality finish for half the price, Sherwins similar on par products are also just as good, and their similary priced grade (around 50-60 a gallon) is far superior to Behr or Valspar at that same price point 26y in renovations, take my literal professional opinion as you will lol

Behr’s infamous for stacking adjectives on their labels. It started with Behr stain, then Behr Premium (another stain), followed by Behr Premium Plus (paint), then Behr Premium Plus Ultra. They’re just making it easier to read because everyone’s only ever called it Ultra. Mind you, I wish they’d spend the money on different solids than clay to put in the paint, rather than on new labels.
