July 23, 2023 - While Belkin’s BoostCharge car charger looks good and does what it’s supposed to, there are a couple of minor complaints. The first- the price. At £45 for the full kit (you can buy it without the lighter-socket-to-USB-C-adapter if you wish) it feels a little steep. Doing the maths, though, and by which I mean adding up the cost of a USB C car charger (about £15) and a wireless charging pad (again, about £15) we’re not super far from that £45 asking price.

It looks like the Belkin charges at 10W, while all the others are 7.5W. I'm new to the Magsafe game so I just want to make sure I'm not missing any other options that charge at higher than 7.5W.
Edit: I should add that I'm totally fine with a vent mount, and would actually l prefer it. They work perfectly in my car.

It only charges at 7.5W as well. MagSafe branding is frankly super consumer hostile, and makes it seem like something can do what it can not. The only way to get faster MagSafe charge speeds is to supply your own MagSafe charger with a car mount adapter. Hopefully that will change soon however, as Apple finally started selling the part to manufacturers. Edit: lol was waiting for the downvotes. MagSafe is great folks! But Apple still shouldn’t let companies use the word “MagSafe” at all unless it is fully compatible with spec. You and I might know the difference, but lord knows the average shopper doesn’t. So, I have a Pixel 10 Pro and I'm thinking of getting this car charger:

I've read about various issues with wireless chargers so wanted to see if there's any experience in the Reddit brains trust. Anyone used it with a Pixel 10? (Pro or not probably doesn't matter)
I know there is a 15W Qi2 version, but it costs more and I don't need the extra power.
I don't need fast charging, most of my car trips are an hour long - or more. I just want to have my battery level slowly increase while using the phone for navigation, without making too much heat. (Slow charge and less heat both make battery survive longer!)

Your phone costs 1350$ but you don't want to get the Qi2 charger because it's 100$ instead of 70$?

It'll work but bear in mind the following: Some of the 10W being put out by the charger is going to be lost in heat so that 10W charger is not actually going to charge your battery at a rate of 10W. Navigation is power-intensive and even without wireless charging at the same time, the phone is going to get toasty. Because of 1) and 2), you might find that the phone charges veeeeery sloooooowly, maybe not at all, or the battery could still even drain despite being on charge, because it's consuming more power than the charger is providing. If you want to charge at the same time as navigating then the best way is to charge via the USB-C port, not wirelessly, and ensure that there's air circulating around the phone.
