Finally a blanket that does stay cool. $49.99
So I live in Florida, its hot year around, but I like how it feels to sleep with a comforter. Whats the best lightweight comforter for hot sleepers under $500? Ideally in the $200 range if possible

Seeing as I'm looking to be travelling around in my van during winter, I'm wondering if it's worth upping my duvet to something thicker? I've already tried having a blanket on my current one during colder spells and still find it chilly.
Just curious which TOG people would recommend? I know it's down to personal preference but thinking something in the 13-15 range would work?
I bought the little throw a couple months ago and it’s great. Just not big enough lmao. Anybody use these?
I am looking for a comforter that I can hold on to for a long time. I’m not even 100% sure if a comforter is what I should be using and that may be the cause of my issues. What are the other options to comforters that I can use to sleep with? The only other thing I know of is blankets. I am in the military so I’m moving between places every couple months or so and in different places with different temperatures and climates. The AC in the barracks frequently goes out or straight up doesn’t work at times.
My budget is $300 Max.
What I am looking for:
-
Hot sleeper friendly
-
Able to be used in all seasons
-
Carries moisture away from the body.
-
Breatheable
-
Regulates temperature around the body
I am a hot sleeper. It’s common for me to wake up in the middle of the night hot and having to flip over the pillow or pull the sheet off to breathe. I generally like to sleep cool and me being a hot sleeper you see my problem. Right now I have a down fluffy comforter which is very soft and I like it. The biggest downsides of it are it traps my heat in which is good when the AC is working and on blasting cold air but when it’s off it’s absolutely miserable and impossible to sleep with it not being breathable. Open to all suggestions.
I don’t have any material preference but I do have slightly sensitive skin. Thanks for reading my Ted talk.
I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome & several other chronic and severe health issues and have a very hard time sleeping because I get very overheated. Oddly, I ALSO can't sleep without some sort of significant blanket. I keep my a/c cranked year round, but regardless, I require a blanket i can keep on, that will not overheat me.
I bought a down comforter at Bed Bath and Beyond in approximately 2009. I removed the tag early on. The only distinguishing factor is that I remember that it is a goose down comforter, and that the all-white fabric of the comforter has stripes in the fabric. It cost more than $250-$300 at the time, it may have even been over $400.
It has been ruined and no amount of effort has helped me find a suitable replacement. I have bought no less than six other (expensive!) comfortors- both down and down-alternative, many of which that are supposed to keep you cool. (This was not the case with the original. It was not marketed as "cooling" in any way.)
None of the replacements work - AT ALL - and they are very, very expensive.
The original down comforter is full of holes, falling apart and feathers fly everywhere. It's stained and gross- but regardless, my husband and I call it "the magic blanket" because the thing is ALWAYS COLD. Even in a hot bedroom, the blanket feels cool to the touch. I am desperate to find a replacement. I've spent well over $1200 trying to get a new one... And each one has been worse than the last, believe it or not.
If anyone has personal experience with a down comforter that feels cool to the touch, or who thinks they may be able to help me solve the mystery...I will be eternally grateful. I genuinely need to find a new one and I can not afford to keep buying blankets that leave me feeling sweaty and sick and unable to sleep. ;-(
My eternal gratitude for your help (in advance!)
We have a Company Store down comforter - going on 6 years, and it’s been great and still warm and fluffy, but started leaking a noticeable amount of tiny little down wisps every time we move. Sadly, I think it might be time to replace it. I’m considering the Feathered Friends option, but it’s so expensive. I’m looking for a BIFL that will get us at least 10yrs or more. Should we go with FF or what other options are there? Please note: only interested in down comforters, no other alternative materials! Thank you!
I bought the coooling comforter and I like it better than my 140$ Ralph Lauren comforter. Not sure how I’ll feel about it for our cold winters but for the summer it feels like heaven. It feels like your laying on a cool fluffy cloud. Can’t recommend it enough
Hello, I’m in need of a new duvet/blanket. I don’t care how much it costs as long as it’s worth it. Trying to find something that is thick and kind of heavy but has to be soft. The other issue is I run hot! I’m worried about over heating but I love being cozy under thick blankets!! I know this is a big ask! I’m looking for a queen size and prefer blankets that are naturally heavy and not weighted. Machine washable would be an amazing plus! Thank you!!!
