quite popular in australia, since they were invented and once made here. Ive heard they have QC issues lately after moving manufacturing to china.
The biggest problem I have with them is that the platen is garbage, so you'll have to modify that but thats pretty easy. and the next biggest problem is that its too fast for most anything past profiling and grinding a blade. especially if you have a 'standard 3,450 RPM grinder' like on the website. standard here is more like 2,800.
grinding hardened steel is more to do with your abrasives than the grinder. get some ceramic belts and it will handle it
I would suggest you buy the 2x36 model and modify it to take 48+ belts, instead of buying the 48 version

March 25, 2013Does anyone have this? It's belt sander attachment for angle grinder and i would like to buy it, but i'm not sure how well it will perform while making knife bevels. What do you think?
Looks like you’ll have to cut down the frame a bit so you can grind bevels off the left hand side of the machine. I’m no doctor, but I think it might also be underpowered. If you are a hobbyist and someone gave it to you, you could probably get by with it. That said, I’d probably save my money and buy a better machine. The Grizzly 2x42 is only like 300 bucks. It’s not perfect, but I think it would be a way better place to start. More on reddit.com

Hi guys, new here. I’m interested in getting my feet wet in bevel grinding. What is an economical setup that I can attach to my existing bench grinder? Just some wheels and a bracket I can bolt on?
