Actually, I'd disagree. He's trying not to be an egomaniac, which as a spiritual person, is often a high priority (somewhat ironic). He's just being very careful with his words. Towards the end he even starts getting into it a bit and seems to be enjoying himself.
I can see what you're talking about though, if you didn't know where he's coming from, his tone could very easily be misinterpreted. I rather liked the interview actually :)

July 18, 2008There's not enough love for Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals in this sub.
I saw them in like 2004, it was amazing, one of my favorite concert experiences I have ever had. Voice is amazing, his lyrics are amazing, and his slide work is amazing. The Innocent Criminals really bring it too. This is top 5 for me for sure.
