October 17, 2024 - I use that a lot so I recommend it if you get the disc sander. I think you can buy just the belt version of this tool. I "think" I paid about $200 ish way back when I got mine. It was a Black Friday special package deal with a belt starter kit and the disc sander and table thrown in.

There are kits. The side of the drive wheel determines your belt speed. If it's all you've got then it's all you've got.

You'll use that plenty. Don't rip it apart. Instead, go around the neighborhood on trash day or look online for an old treadmill. Variable speed controller built in and up to a 3hp motor for really cheap if not free. All you need then is a sheet of steel to drill out and the rollers.
