I want a bench sander and have a bench grinder with standard discs I have used like once? I have looked for but not found sanding disc conversions. Can you simply remove the grinding disk and attach a sanding disk to the machine and use that? Has anyone done this? I have a no-name bench grinder: https://i.imgur.com/vV3gmyj.jpg
I am pretty handy but it this a no-go? I know I would have to remove the guard and stuff.
Thanks.
I was starting to get into cutting stones and just wanted to practice using cheaper equipment to get into the practice. I just wanted to see what you all would suggest for grinding wheels and polish that’s not too expensive. Also any recommendations for cheaper necessary tools that will help all suggestions and advice are appreciated.
So I've been serious about woodworking for about 2 years now. I've slowly been adding tools and learning to do things with the tools have. I also watch a lot of woodworking videos. There are a ton of videos (sped up) of people building things on Facebook. It finally dawned on me they were sanding their projects using angle grinders. I had bought an angle grinder years ago for a project and then never used it again. So I picked up some sanding discs and tried it on a refinishing project. Worked great! Why do I never hear anyone talk about this way of sanding? I've done a bunch of research in the last 2 years and and never heard it mentioned. How about it Redditors, who uses an angle grinder for sanding?
