Hi guys,
I’d like to install a strip of LED lights in my backyard by directly connecting them to existing 12v landscaping wiring. The landscaping itself is connected to a Lutron switch for simple home automation.
I find the selection of LEDs out there pretty overwhelming. Any recommendations?

We want to brighten up our back patio under the gazebo at night, and I'm looking into 12v LED strip lights, which we could run along the inside of the frame around the roof line. But there are just so many options, I'm getting lost and looking for recommendations.
I'd like something that could be wired into our existing 12v landscape lines, even if that means cutting off a provided transformer and splicing it manually. We're also looking for something that could be color-changing via remote (or app). The gazebo itself is 14x20 so to run arounds the full perimeter we're looking at around 70 ft.
The perfect setup would start with the existing landscape lighting 12v line at the bottom of one corner post, connected to the light-strip set, and I'm assuming there would be some "controller" inline for a remote control to "talk" to and control light settings, and then from there start at one corner of the gazebo roof and just wrap around.
Any suggestions for a brand that's well-made, works well, and doesn't fritz out after a single season?
Thanks!
We bought some low voltage landscape lights (12v 2.5w) that unfortunately have some issues. Specifically, when turned on, you can easily see each dot of the LED strip as opposed to a more seamless uniform look. I'm trying to fix this, but am absolutely not an LED or electronics expert.
I've disassembled one of the units and it appears that the light, wiring, and any controllers are housed in a single unit that can be easily removed from the fixture. I've tried searching for a replacement bulb (like this), but haven't found one in an appropriate size. My next idea is to purchase a dotless LED strip and put that into the light fixture, but I'm not totally clear on how the wiring would work. My questions:
-
I'm looking at buying a roll of dotless LED (e.g. this) and cutting it to size. When I cut the LED strip to length, what do I need to do to connect it to the low voltage transformer? Is it just connecting a wire to the end and running that to the transformer or do I need a driver for each one?

Any other ideas of how to solve this?

What else do I need to know?
Thanks so much!
Anyone have recommendations for good interior led lights for a 12v system? I really like the ambiance of Coleman lanterns, but want to go with led for various reasons, however I hate the white light that many of them have. Anyone have recommendations for more yellow tinted ones?
