I have done some research like I always do before buying any new tech, but I am just flat out confused and lost in this 2in1 laptop market. So many options, and I just cant seem to find anything good!
I need a 2-in-1 laptop for school work for under $1000. Preferably under $800 but will go under 1000 if its really worth it. I am plannig to buy a stylus aswell, but I'd prefer if it came with the laptop.
If its possible, I'd like atleast 16gb of ram and a good battery so it sutvives my school's timetable.

I'm a first year, but I wish to change my laptop - it sucks. It's a Dell Inspiron 15 3000, the worst laptop I have ever encountered. This would be my first and last time using Dell. I was considering an HP envy x360 15", but I want to know if it is worth it. I bought my current laptop without researching, and I reaped its consequences. I don't want to make that mistake again.
I got my Asus zenbook 2in1 for 1200 iirc 4 years ago. It has served me quite well and was the best investment for school. I got it on sale during a back to school special in late August. I can even play most of my games on it
I got a Lenovo ideapad flex 5 with the Ryzen 7 and 16gb RAM 2 years ago for 750 and it's been pretty great. I think Lenovo and Dell both have student discounts too

How important is weight and thinness to you? Very Important. The main reason I'm buying even though I have a hp victus.

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run? Ideally I want to run python/java in VS Code along with multiple chrome tabs and spotify at the same time. So I'm thinking 16gb RAM
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? At most I'll play roblox because I have another gaming laptop I'll use anyways
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I want to double it as a note taker and something to code on.

Im not an expert but I like the look of the surface pro but it has a snapdragon core which I think some of my college softwares might not support. I already have a hp victus rtx 3050 laptop but its heavy and no real battery life that's why I want a 2 in 1 instead of a new tablet + laptop. Thanks

This September I’m starting uni (physics) and I’m in need of a laptop for taking notes in classes, making presentations and handling simulations in some programs. I’m also a fan of RTSs and city builders (can’t wait to play city skylines 2 this October), and so I would like a machine capable enough to do some light gaming as well.
PS: maybe it would be better if it had the newest processors, because it needs to last at least 3-5 years in great conditions (but ultimately I don’t know anything about laptops, so I’m counting on you for the right pick)

Hey everyone, I’m about to start college and I’m looking for a cheap 2 in 1 laptop that can do my online course work, write emails and notes, and maybe a bit of streaming. I like to walk around a lot so something lightweight is a must! Good battery life and a total detachable keyboard would also be nice. Windows/Chromebook are both ok. Is there anything that would make sense for me? I’m super tempted to splurge and get the surface pro, but ideally I’m looking for something that’s in the $300 - $600 range. If you can point me where to look, I would really appreciate it! Thanks
