Brand name belts will do just fine. Anything that isn't budget stuff like harbor freight. HF makes some OK machines and some really garbage abrasive.

I buy all my stuff from trugrit.
You probably don't need to bother with ceramic belts since your machine probably couldn't utilize the advantages it gives. Maybe get one to try it out (for fast metal removal).
Keep in mind, loaded abrasives like norax and trizact are for finishing. They will crumble if you try to use them to remove metal due to fragility. The advantage is that they provide a more even finish and last longer than standard single-coat abrasive belts

November 28, 2020 - A family member used to work for 3M selling industrial abrasives. Sander Belts have a shelf life. Buy what you plan to use immediately. I have not had issues with belts for stationary sanders. Only belts for portable sanders. No longer have a portable belt sander so cant say if shelf life issue still applies.
