Best AIO Coolers 2026 | Tom's Hardware
June 17, 2026 - AIO coolers are much more convenient and affordable than custom liquid cooling loops. And, traditionally at least, AIOs have been able to deliver lower CPU temperatures with less fan noise than air coolers. That’s not always the case these days, though, as the best air coolers have gotten better and, in some cases, bigger.

What is currently the best 240mm AIO?
Cooler Master Atmos 240 seems to be one of the best performing in its size class. However before you do that, I might take a look at your fan setup. I have a D32 Pro which is very similar to the Z20, plus a Phantom Spirit. Rear fan as intake, CPU fans flowing the same direction, with a top exhaust on the right position. On a 9800X3D, I'm idling low 40s with gaming in the 50s to low 60s depending on how demanding the game is. Of course if you do an all core benchmark it's gonna spike to 90+ no matter what cooler you have because they're designed to boost as much as possible until it hits the thermal limit. You're not gonna get much better temps even with a different cooler. More on reddit.com
Which AIO is best overall?
Asetek invented, patented and perfected the AIO. In my opinion i would say Asetek Gen 8 is the best, and any reputable brand will happily put their RGB and fans on it. The Tryx Panorama is an Asetek Gen 8: https://www.tryxzone.com/panorama/831 The Asus Ryujin 3 is an Asetek Gen 8: https://rog.asus.com/cooling/cpu-liquid-coolers/rog-ryujin/rog-ryujin-iii-360/ The higher end Thermalright Frost Guardian is an Asetek Gen 8: https://thermalright.com/product/frozen-guardian-360-white/ Since you like Phanteks and Lian Li. The Lian Li Gallahad II LCD is Asetek Gen 8: https://lian-li.com/product/galahad-ii-lcd/ The Phanteks Glacier One T30 is an Asetek Gen 8: https://www.asetek.com/oem-partner-products/phanteks-glacier-one-t30-gen-2-aios/ Many companies have tried making their own AIOs but they're not tested long term. For example Arctic's Liquid Freezer II used rubber seals. Rubber is made from trees and rots over time. As a result these seals would degraded and cause leaks. When they discovered this they mailed new silicone seals to their customers: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4jZ1hj_-t38 Lian Li had tried making their own AIO. However they didn't clean the metal properly and chemical residue would cause them to rust out: https://lian-li.com/regarding-issues-with-our-galahad-aio-affecting-cpu-temperatures/ As a result Lian Li figured it'd be better to use Asetek for the next version. So while performance is one thing, you also might want a unit that is built properly so it doesn't rust/rot and leak. The Arctic Liquid Freezer has great performance, but when their last ones rotted have they figured it out yet? Every other brand resells the same high quality Asetek unit, so it's just a matter of picking your preferred fans and RGB software. ARGB devices almost all use the same WS2812B LEDs. Hello,
I am considering building an high end build based on the future 9900X3D and the the MSI godlike X870e.
I am lost with all available AIO, which one could be the best for this AM5 build without having high level of noise ?
Thank you

My favorite part about these posts are the guys that bitch and moan about how you spend your money rather than answer the question. That being said, I’ve been pretty pleased with the be quiet light loop 360 and I had the arctic freeze 360 before. Both did the job and did it well.

Best CPU Coolers 2026: AIO and Air Coolers | Tom's Hardware
June 22, 2026 - The best CPU cooler for your build will dictate your processor's temperatures and contribute to its fan noise. In high-end systems, a great cooler can also deliver better performance by keeping your CPU's boost clocks higher for longer periods. We test dozens of PC air coolers and all-in-one (AIO) liquid cooler models every year.

I see a lot of benchmarks for 280+ AIOs but never for 240mm AIOs. I'm rocking a Z20, and while my current thermalright AIO is doing well, I would still like to get something better. Alternatively, are there air coolers that would match the performance of a 240mm AIO?
Thanks <3
