I just bought a 5800x3d, but I noticed that this cpu does not come with a cooler. I tried looking up which one to get on YouTube but they gave me mixed answered on the cooler that I should get. So do any of y’all have any good cooler recommendation?

Edit: Wow thank all of y’all for your responses, this really helped and I was able to narrow down a great cooler :)

What type of cooler should I get for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D?
Going for an AIO liquid cooler is recommended since it provides optimal performance and offers enough TDP for overclocking without worrying about the temperature. However, it is completely based on preference.

Can you overclock the Ryzen 7 5800X3D?
No, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D doesn’t support overclocking or PBO, and that’s the downside to adding this 100MB cache (4MB L2, 96MB L3).

Does the Ryzen 7 5800X3D overheat?
Since the Ryzen 7 5800X3D has a TDP of 105W, it is bound to reach high temperatures. However, pairing it with a decent CPU cooler, preferably an AIO liquid cooler, won’t be an issue.

Before you guys say why don't you get an air cooler. I've acknowledged the PS120SE, AK620 etc. But I'm find with spending a bit more on aesthetics and those two behemoths I think might ruin the aesthetics of my build that's my personal choice I know how good the PS120SE I recommend it to two of my friend's which for one I bought and installed for him.

I had the ls520se top of the list, then I saw the artic freezer ii 240, i know that thing is amazing but the pump just looks really bad imo.

I know the LS520SE is basically the same performance as the PS120SE. Any other RGB options with similar price point to the ls520se?

So, recently decided to go back to an air cooler from a 420mm Arctic liquid freezer 2. I felt like since I wasn't over clocking (you can't on that chip) I figured I'd remove the variable of an eventual leak or pump malfunction. I was going to just save the cooler for when I make the jump to AM6 since those are going to be more power hungry I'm sure.

Before vs after and I cleaned up the cables a tad more.

Did I make the right choice or it doesn't really matter?

Hi, I am currently upgrading my build from Ryzen 5 5600x to a 5800x3D(with new mobo). My current processor is cooled with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition. I want to upgrade to a liquid cooling for aesthetics.

(Why am I not upgrading to am5 y'all may ask? It's because I don't want to spend 150CAD more on RAM sticks. I know this upgrade sounds stupid but im using my pc for VR and the V-cache can be really good, especially for demanding titles.)

My only preoccupation is that I can't fit something higher than 240mm. Do you guys have any good 240mm coolers that can cool the 5800x3D. I'm a little bit lost in my research and I don't know what is good or what is not.

(And if you also think of a better upgrade path for around the same price and performance, let me know. I am really open to suggestions) ;)

Thanks advance for your help. If any questions on anything else on my build, feel free to ask.

r/buildapc on Reddit: Best AIO for 5800X3D
June 7, 2022 -

Hi everyone,

Recently upgraded to a 5800X3D from a 3600 and looking to upgrade the AIO. Currently have a H100i Platinum but I don't think it cools down as good as it needs to be for this CPU. I can hit close to 90C on Cinebench and Prime95. Re-pasted a couple of times and the spread is great each time I took the block off.

So looking at AIOs, mainly for aesthetics to go with my Corsair 5000D, I was looking between a 280mm and 360mm as apparently their performance is pretty similar. What's recommended out there for around £150?

Thanks in advance

February 15, 2024 -

Context here:
I live in Brazil and it's summer right now, not always i have my AC on (only when it's unbearable)..

My 5800x3d is being cooled by the first version of Fuma 2 (not rev b) and while it's doing it's thing, i'm still not confortable in let it run at 80º-81º while playing some CPU intensive games (i game at 3440x1440p)...

i know that's whithin the normal temperatura for everyday use, but, still, like i've said: i'm not comfortable...

With all that being said...what AIO or Air cooler would you guys recommend that i could lower those temps to at least 70-75 levels?

i'm already running PBO2Tuner -25 all cores...

Thanks in advance and sry about my english

Popped in a 5800X3D in place of a 5800X few days ago, using a Corsair 240mm AIO. Non-3D never got above 75ish during gaming previously. Always run at stock.

X3D hit 90 degrees a few times for just a moment playing BF2042 and stays around 80-85 when playing Rainbow 6 or DCS.

I though it was my thermal paste job, so I re-did it. I also swapped out my glass panel for a steel mesh one. Same high temps.

Guess I gotta download this unofficial software to adjust voltage, wish there was some way to do this through bios or Ryzen Master. Pretty annoying ngl. Only thing I can think of doing differently other than that is turning my rad to intake fresh air, but I doubt that would make more than a few degree difference.

EDIT: Just use a -20 or -30 voltage curve in bios. Otherwise just believe reddit when they tell you your CPU running at 90 degrees is normal.
