I am a video editor and I want to use Intel Quick Sync, and the higher number of cores and threads significantly speeds up the process. So, I'm wondering if I should buy an AMD CPU or not. I know the 15th generation Intel CPU will be released around October, but I don't think I can wait. By the way, I plan to get a 4070 Ti as my GPU. Please advise!

If you make money from the videos you edit, and intel's advantage will make your work easier, I think you can go with it with your eyes wide open. You will price in the fact that the CPU will need to be replaced in a few years with 0 value left. I edit videos occasionally but I don't make money from it. So I would want my devices to last many, many years.

I am looking to upgrade to a new system dedicated to video editing, and would love to do serious gaming on the side too, I am looking at the very minimum a 5070 paired with 32GB of ram, might snag 64 if I can find a reasonable deal somewhere.
What would a great CPU be to accompany this?
I don't know much about cpu architecture or features, only that Intel has Quick sync that I use currently, which will help a lot in my daily work with unoptimized h.256 files.
AMD seems to be great at multitasking and general software workflow, but i see these new XD processors that seem to be optimized for gaming and not general workload,
I would love to clarity or experience from others on this subject!
