They're not as easy to find as the fixed-speed units, but once you've used one you'll never go back. They also held up well under extremely unfriendly conditions, rock dust is nasty stuff. ... January 20, 2015 - I think it might be a galahad by king Arthur. if youre adept with an angle grinder , this one is much friendlier to handle and it will hog out wood like you wouldn't believe.! still a bit pricey but it doesn't clog up and looks like it would last a long while. a good one to try out if you have any previous experience using a 4 1/2" grinder , so that you know how to use one already. it does leave scratch marks though. so it isn't best for finishing work but my favorite is the angle flapped 4 1/2 disk sander for the angle grinder, theyre only a couple bucks.

April 2, 2017 - I build some handicap ramps out of treated 2x lumber and the angle grinder with abrasive disk makes quick work of rounding off corners and blending the joints. Also good for some rough shaping of turnings. And then, the occasional need to use the disks for metal work. You may need 2 - just joking. I did end up with a free one with a recip saw and it is the one that gets the most use. ... I do volunteer work on other people's houses, sometimes it includes putting in ramps. February 12, 2021 - I mentioned in the introduction that you don’t need that many tools to get started carving. Just an angle grinder and a Kutzall disc at a bare minimum. I recommend a variable speed angle grinder if you are purchasing a new one. Although the fixed speed grinders work fine.
