r/iphone on Reddit: Which iPhone accessories do you actually use every day?
August 14, 2025 -

Hi! I’m a grad student in Marketing (Research & Data track) working on a paper about real-world iPhone accessory usage. Could you share: • Your 2–3 daily-use accessories (e.g., MagSafe charging pad, magnetic power pack, USB-C cable, 30W PD wall charger, wireless earbuds). • Your exact iPhone model (+ case type if you’d like). Thanks!

Every time I get a new iPhone I always buy some accessories and think about some.

For my iPhone 14 Pro (Deep Purple) I will buy:

- Apple Silicon Case (Elderberry)
- MagSafe Charger (I don't have it yet)

Just thought about Apple Care+ but because I will buy a case I think I won't need it.

What about you? What accessories will you get? Or will you get the iPhone "naked"?

What accessories do you guys actually use and feel make a legit difference in your iPhone experience?

I recently grabbed the MagSafe charger, and I didn’t think it’d be a big deal but the convenience is great.

Is there something out there that I’m seriously missing?

March 20, 2025 - ... Got an ESR MagSafe car vent holder with cryoboost that cools your phone while charging, an Anker 321 5000 mAh MagSafe Powerbank and several cheap wireless desktop chargers that also kinda support MagSafe.

Hello! A few days ago, I bought an iPhone 16 Plus Ultramarine, upgrading from a 12 Pro Max that I’ve been using since 2022. For my previous phone, I purchased an original charger (the cable was already included), many cases over time from Shein/Aliexpress/Temu, screen protectors also from these websites, and charging cables from Baseus along with a power bank for situations when I traveled out of town for a few days. This way, I didn’t have to carry the original charger and risk losing it, which would have upset me.

This time, I’d like to ask you: what accessories do you use for your phones? Do you prefer original cases or cheaper alternatives? Do you use skins? What’s your opinion on them? What power banks do you recommend—MagSafe or wired? How do you protect your phone, and what tips do you have for keeping it in the best possible condition, both in terms of battery life and appearance? Do you know any methods to maintain the phone’s aesthetics while also keeping it safe?

I use the mous case with aramid fibre and the pop socket magsafe wallet. Really happy with both and worth every penny. Ever since apple switched to their fine woven stuff and away from leather I avoided the original cases, although the leather cases used to be great IMO. Not the best protection but they looked awesome. I used cheaper cases in the past, but the mous case on sale is like 40-50 bucks which is fair for what you get imo. So much higher quality than even more expensive cases. I also bought an ESR cryoboost magsafe charging mount for my car and an ESR 3 in 1 cyroboost magsafe stand to charge at home. Those can obviously used with future iPhones too. If you want to maintain the phones aesthetics you need to get apple care. All those slim cases only offer limited to no protection so in most cases it doesn't really make a difference whether you have a case or not. There are those metal clamp cases that you probably saw in some temu to tiktok ads, but the real deal costs like 60 bucks I think and only covers the edges. Another alternative would be a bumper case. those offer decent protection and you can still feel the back glass.

I use a standard Apple case that I bought with my iPhone 16 Pro. For charging on the go, I'm still using an Anker 322 for wireless charging - it's only 5,000 mAH (originally got it for my iPhone 12 Mini) and I'll probably upgrade to a 10,000 mAH power bank soon. I also have a standalone Magsafe charger on my work desk that I use to charge my phone as well as my AirPods Pro 2. Magsafe charging is not the most efficient and wired charging is still the best, but the convenience of Magsafe is unmatched. Instead of buying a new case (for now), I'm simply adding stickers to my existing one to customize it. Don't bother with skins - not worth the hassle. Invest in different cases instead; for my 12 Mini I had 7 cases in total, 5 that were Magsafe and 2 that weren't.

r/iphone on Reddit: What accessories should I buy at the Apple store?
March 5, 2023 -

I just ordered a 15 Pro Max to replace my 8+. So all the accessories will have to be bought new. Right now, I’m looking to keep it to necessities only. I also have a ¥10,000 (about $70 US) accessories only credit at the Japan Apple store. I think I can get a single item up to ¥10000, or several up to ¥5000. Looking for the best bang for buck.

Is there something special about this case they sell at the Apple Store (¥8000), or are they over priced and basically the same as something like this (¥2000)?

Side question regarding the case and Phone:
My current 8+ case has a 3cm metal circle attached to the back of the case which sticks to a 3.5 cm strong magnet on my car dashboard (allows me to see the phone screen vertically, I use this daily). Will my new phone or case automatically attach to the magnet? Or will I have to fix a similar metal plate to the back of the new case? Would that metal plate interfere with anything like wireless charging?

Also, I need to transfer photos and videos directly to and from the iPhone and an HDD. Is the included cable able to do this?

And can I continue to use the small cube wall adapters from my iPhone 8 to charge the iPhone 15 Pro Max? Or is it necessary to buy the higher wattage adapter? If I understand correctly, this is not good for the battery. Im not in a rush to charge at the batteries expense.

Ive never used wireless charging. Is there a reason to buy the MagSafe charger? The one real utility I can see is if I want to use the headphones while charging (which actually may be useful for me sometimes, as I use the headphones a lot).

If none of these things are necessary, then I’m thinking to use the store credit to buy a couple of extra USB-C charging cables (as all my lightning cables will be useless), and an AirTag. I’ve never had an AirTag, and it may come in useful. Does the AirTag show up on other peoples iPhones, or is its usage and location strictly for me? I ask because a family member had accidentally left one in the car, and I was surprised that my phone alerted me to its location, even though I had never paired with it or knew of its existence.

I had been considering getting wireless AirPods, but they’re a bit expensive, and I use my wired EarPods so much that I’m sure the battery would constantly be dead.

Thanks so much for your help

Got my first iPhone. 16 pro. Quite an upgrade for me coming from pixel 4a. Just some quick questions.

  • Which is the best brand for back cases?

  • Do you folks use back panel protector film?

  • Any other useful accessory?

P.S. I don't have an apple+ protect.

January 2, 2021 - I decided I wanted all Apple Magsafe chargers. I did settle for a 3rd party cigarette lighter fast charge plug since Apple doesn’t offer one. Also I bought 3rd party “mounts/holders” for the MagSafe cords. I needed 2 extensions, one fo the man cave 🏈 and another for the nightstand.
