r/headphones on Reddit: What headphones do you use for the gym?
December 5, 2023 -

To be honest I do not go the the gym, just do some basic workout on my home and sometimes I run some Kilometers, just the basic in order to compensate our unhealthy sedentary lifestyle.

I use some Sony MDR ZX220Bt, my only pair of wireless headphones for the moment, tweaking with some Auto EQ profiles + manual EQ I get a headphone that it is quite decent enough to be used since I use it at low volumes and background music it is enough, I also use them for multimedia stuff on Android while I lay on my bed or while I lunch.

Not the best but enough for basic use, what headphones do you oftenly use for the gym or basic stuff.

Hey, sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm a college student and dont want to spend money on a pair of headphones that are low quality like beats or that will break in the first month. Im essentially looking for some cheap-ish bluetooth headphones ($200 max) that have decent quality and are at least semi-durable. Doesn't necessarily have to be headphones im fine with earbuds I just have never been able to get a pair that stay in my ears or have good sound quality. Sorry if this is too specific or anything, thank you for the advice.

I don’t own any headphones just AirPods and I’m looking for a good pair of headphones. I also know like nothing about headphones lol and everything online seems mixed.

My budget is hopefully under 300 but willing to go over a bit if it’s worth it. I honestly just want the best sound quality and good noise cancellation but that’s second to sound quality. It would be ideal for it to have like a large ear hole thing bc I have a couple ear piercings. And I want it to be secure on my head while I work out. I also want something cute and hopefully comes in white or pink. And also Bluetooth and a good battery life.

Ok that’s it pls someone help me thank you

r/HeadphoneAdvice on Reddit: Best Wireless Headphones for Working Out – Any Recommendations?
November 19, 2024 -

I’ve tried the Anker Soundcore Life Q20's and they didn’t work out for me. The sound was fine, but they’d slip off during intense movements and they weren’t very breathable so my ears would get sweaty.

EDIT: Just coming back to say I chose these and they have been great whilst working out.

My budget is around $100-$200.

I’ve been eyeing the Skullcandy Crusher Evo and the Sennheiser HD 450BT. Both seem pretty well-reviewed, but I’m not sure how they’d perform during workouts. Anyone tried these, or have other suggestions for brands that work well in the gym?

Would really appreciate any feedback before I pull the trigger on a new pair. Thanks! (I'm from the UK)

I want to buy the best and newest options available on the market. What do you recommend and why? disregard price, I value my headphones greatly since I run and gym everyday. I prefer quality over saving a few dollars. ... Good gym headphones are cheap headphones. Sweat = salt water = damage and dirt. I just stock-up on £20-30 Anker/MPow bluetooth headphones for gym/running - and I'm happy to get 12 months out of a pair.

January 17, 2018 - Definitely the Jaybirds. Have been using mine every day in the gym for the past 1 1/2 years and they work great. ... Sony WH1000XM2. And here’s why.... Bluetooth headphones that use LDAC so quality is stellar.

r/xxfitness on Reddit: Wireless In-Ear Headphones for Gym?
June 9, 2014 -

Long story short, I purchased an iPhone 7 Plus and immediately regretted it because 1) I can't keep my phone in my sports bra due to the "Plus" size, and 2) there's no headphone jack. In addition, I'm having sound quality issues with the lightning connector. Music cuts out frequently and it's quite frustrating, especially the gym. I refuse to keep wiggling the cord around to find the "sweet spot" mid-burpee.

So now I'm on the search for wireless in-ear headphones that will be able to keep up with me at the gym. I do plyometrics and weight lift, so I need something that will be able to handle a lot of different movements. I've been looking into the SOL REPUBLIC "Shadow" headphones. Any reviews on these or other suggestions?

Thanks!

First post here! I have done my due diligence and read the recent gym related posts before submitting my recommendation request. I am interested in getting wireless over the ear headphones for the gym primarily for lifting, so I don't expect to sweat too much or have any high impact exercises. Many listicles recommend Beats but this sub seems to loathe them. I was looking at some Sennheiser momentum 4 but am worried they might not be durable in case they fall or might not be easy to clean. Appreciate any advice

I've been consistant in the gym for over 10yrs and have had many pairs of bluetooth headphones over the years. Some cheap, some expensive. I've had several pairs from Sony, and a few JBL. The two things that I look for was sound quality and pure longevity. In the last few years I had: JBL / UnderArmor Project Rock headphones - these died in 10 months and when I tried to warrantee them the company ghosted me. The headphones were sounded ok but soaked up sweat and where on the heavy side. Plantronics Backbeat headphone - they sounded great and were light weight. Were easy to clean and had a great app to adjust things. I actually wanted to buy another pair as there were so good... but the company discontinued them... SkullCandy Crusher Evo - my current set and they are pretty good. These have by far the most bass I have ever experienced in a bluetooth headphone set... they have a physical slider for how much bass you want, and damn its nuts how much you can get... they actually shake your head, lol. I have that set to maybe 20% most of the time. For longevity I'd stay away from fake leather ones as that will die after a while and start to fall apart. Fabric ones will soak up your sweat and over time they will start to stink as its impossible to clean them properly. Headphones with more of rubber or plastic pad will last the longest as the material is easy to wipe off and wont absorb sweat. In my gym there a truckload of guys with Beats heaphones, which I find are very expensive even for their low end set. At $300 or $400 they better have a 5yr warranty.

I'm late to this post but for what it's worth, I've had the Beats Solo Pro for I think two years now after receiving them as a gift. I've only dipped my toes into the whole audiophile sphere recently so take this with a grain of salt, but I can definitely vouch for the Solo Pro, especially as a pair of gym headphones. They do everything I want: they have a decent grip, but not too tight; the leather is comfortable and not too hot; the connection is stable, the range is good; the audio quality TBH is pretty decent (not as good as my HD6XX, but of course, that's not what you'd expect), and I specifically really like the stereo separation; oh, also, the battery life is fantastic - I'd roughly estimate they can last two weeks of daily use on a single charge. Overall, I've had a great time with them.

Hey guys! Looking for some really good earbuds for the gym. Here’s some specs I think are important to me, please recc whatever you think fits best (bonus for tried and tested) -Sweat proof! (i sweat a lot on my face especially, I can’t have them getting waterlogged lol) -Slip proof, basically they can’t fall out of my ear mid rep. I know over ear ones would be the best for these but those tend to feel suffocating while I’m weight training. -Slight noise cancelling. I just wanna mute some surrounding sound, not completely block it out for when I’m running (safety first while running outside!) A good booming bass to really get the blood pumping (some good pump songs would also be welcome hehe)

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a pair of over-ear headphones for the gym, currently looking at the Philips ANC H8506 since there's a huge discount at a shop in Denmark where I'm from.

I'd really like them to be sort of cheap, but I'd also really like a great sound quality and some decent noise cancellation (I'm tired of hearing other people's conversations and guys grunting etc.).

Does anyone have any recommendations, and does anyone have experience with the Philips ANC H8506 (or the JBL Tune 770NC or similar)?

Over the last 6 years I’ve probably spent close to $2000 on earbuds. With the exception of the JBL endurance sports, every pair has either has succumbed to sweat/rain damage, fallen apart, or had battery/charging problems. I can’t remember them all, but off the top of my head, I’ve tried:

AirPods (3rd gen & Pro): sweat damage.

ESC sound Series 3: 1st pair sweat damage. Replacement bud charging problem. 2nd replacement set charging problem in one bud and sweat damage in other.

Soundcore X10 Sport: right bud started glitching and then fell apart.

Jabara Elite 75 & 85: 75s volume would randomly drop; replacement set sweat damage. 85s rain damage.

JBL Endurance Sports: work fine, but they have a touch surface instead of buttons and if a single drop of sweat or rain hits the surface, it will randomly start skipping tracks or turn the earbuds off.

I had another set of JBLs I can’t remember the name of that died of sweat damage because the charge port had a plastic cover that was slowly bent out of shape every time it was opened until it couldn’t close anymore.

I’ve tried a few random cheap pairs I can’t remember that we’re supposed to be sweat resistant but didn’t last. I know BIFL isn’t really feasible, but at this point I don’t care about price if I can get at least 2-3 of reliable service.
