June 23, 2024I'm hungry...where are some of the best 'all you can eat' places on long island?
I actually just went to JBBQ in Bayshore which is an ‘all you can eat’ for 90 minutes and it was awesome. My recommendation would be to do the table grill only and it is like 31 bucks per person. The hot pot to me wasn’t worth it.
Each person gets a choice of five things initially and that includes ‘ready to eat’ which is pork gyoza, spring rolls, chili wings, etc. I could go back and just order all of the ready to eat stuff and be very happy.
For what you got for the table grill, all the meats and fish were delicious. They come with 4 different sauces which are all really delicious and unique. The waiter comes back constantly to see if you need anymore food and we felt like we definitely got our fair share. It was a really unique experience and definitely worthwhile.

April 3, 2020Best Chinese Buffet on the Island?
Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet in Babylon is a favorite of mine and not badly priced. Food quality is excellent and there’s a lot to choose from. Islandia Buffet prepared food offerings are hit or miss, but they have a Mongolian BBQ guy, and that makes it worth the price of admission.
I haven’t been to Crystal Garden in so long, I had no idea management changed. I wonder if it’s still as good as before.

November 8, 2025 - Huge variety of food! Sushi, raw clams & oysters, meat dishes and dessert bar. Almost all of it, at least what I was able to try before I exploded, was very tasty. It was very crowded, which means a quick turnaround in the food being replenished, so it was very fresh.

Cast Iron Pot 2 or 3 on Northern Boulevard in Murray Hill is good, but if I'm with 3+ people, I'd rather just go to Jeon Yook down the street for better food. If I'm stuck in Nassau and can't go to Queens, Won is much better than the other Korean ayce options nearby. It's not great, but the other ones are awful. Won is so much better than Picnic Garden, but I think the newer one in Westbury area is trying to hype themselves and is the one to go to right now. In 6 months I bet it returns to 02 level. The AYCE sushi places all stink, but are much better than Minado was, so that's good. There's a bunch of them, look at the pics of the closest ones to see if the rice ratio works for you. All the hot pot spots are not for me. Ymmv. I've been to Haidilao and the other high end Flushing hot pot, and the nicer shabu shabu in Manhattan. I'd take mid bbq over it anyway. Fogo de Chao has better meat quality and accompanying side items like a full salad bar, soups, fruit, veg, cheese, some charcuterie, etc. The rodizio/churrascos in Mineola are pretty good, but Fogo eats their lunch imo, and it's nothing special. It's like how Capital Grill is a boring chain, but still trashes tons of spots you'd rather like. All the regional, and in some cases national, basic buffet spots like Old Country, Ryan's, Shoneys, Sizzler etc are gone. Some of them, like CiCis, were never good for anything but a place to dump a kids sports team. The rest were places for old people to hang out. The big loss imo are a lot of Indian buffet spots dying. I think one Jackson diner in Bellerose area closed, the other in JH doesn't do buffet anymore if I heard correct. I think Diwan in Hicksville is still doing buffet, but it's pretty boring (but ok) and at the price I'd rather go to better spots down the street and just get a normal meal. Most of these places are not good, but it's fun to go out with friends and eat until you're gonna die once in a while. Lol at this tome.
