So I'm applying for a job at best buy and I have two medically necessary surgery's that need to be done in the next few years and I'm wondering how good is the insurance best buy provides? The surgery's aren't like expensive or anything but they are necessary, tomorrow I'm going to call blue cross just to see if they will cover them but in pretty sure they will.

This is my first job that has offered benefits but how good are they really? I pay $100 a paycheck for just myself and yet the medicine I take is still quite expensive, even with coupons. Are there private health insurances that would be better, or do I just need a better employer?

Or maybe all health insurance is crap and I'm SOL, wouldn't surprise me.

I see we have the option of UHC or Blue Cross for 2024…exact same coverage but UHC is cheaper. Worked for Best Buy 20 years and never seen this. I quit a couple years ago and am on Cobra from retirement package…so not in store to hear explanations. Any advice? I’m going with UHC so far as cheaper…am I missing something?

What are Best Buy benefits and as someone who is just training how many hours would they work ? I got an offer of 18$ per hour which was not that much unless I work 45 hours a week

think its wise i am already paying about $100 every paycheck towards health insurance i barely go to the doctors bit of a catch 22 since i want to save money but at the same time im more of a safe than sorry kind of situation

Hello, I don't work for Best Buy, my friend does. They are having trouble with the health insurance being from Minnesota Blue Cross, we are in Virginia. Is this a thing at all stores in other states, or just ours? No one here accepts a Minnesota health insurance, so they can't get medical care, and because technically the company offers insurance they can't get help on the marketplace.

Sooo, I just quit Best Buy last Thursday and I did have the Legal Services Plan as well as the disability and life insurance, I am still not off as an employee ( ig they haven’t taken me out yet ) I was wondering if there’s any steps I should take now or after everything is done, I’m just clueless I’ve tried to message the customer service in alight but it says nothing as well as our HR help look up thingy ! I resigned from Best Buy in February of 2022. I still get emails regarding health insurance that I supposedly have. At no point in 2023 did I work for Best Buy in any way. I just received a form W-2 for 2023 from Best Buy showing that Best Buy had paid more than $5,000 toward my company health insurance. I can't log into anything, and the people in India on the phone can't tell me anything about what's going on. I don't work for Best Buy anymore. I don't work for Best Buy anymore. I. Do. Not. Work. For. Best. Buy. Anymore. Am I going to have to hire an attorney and go to court for Best Buy to officially separate me and drop me from the insurance?

Hey folks, alerting people that if you are in MN at Best Buy, the only options for health care moving forward are an HMO or Surest, which is essentially Uber for your healthcare: you shop around on your phone to get care that is affordable every single time you need care.

I myself am not going to be getting healthcare through Best Buy moving forward because I need more coverage beyond emergencies and occasional visits. If this is you as well, change your enrollment between October 16th-27th or they will roll you into one of these plans. Insurance is not going to change until January 1st, so you can get insurance on your own outside of Best Buy as well.

Frankly, this is one of the key benefits I wanted for working full-time and now it's been cut in the home state of the company. Not sure when my promotion to customer will be at this rate, but who can say 🤔

I am also including here this screenshot for other states that don't have the typical UHC/Blue Cross coverage in case your state has changed as well. Don't have specific details on those, but I encourage you to check to make sure you have good coverage, people!

Those who switched jobs how was your experience? I just got an offer and accepted a new job and was wondering how our insurance works because there is 90-day probation period for my new job and won't get benefits until July 4th. Does best buy cover COBRA until a certain time or gives me X amount of time of COBRA?
