The Shure stuff is a good value but the Sennheiser stuff has better radios. I have far fewer problems with large Sennheiser fleets than I do with small Shure ones. Also the 865 capsule is terrific on a wide range of vocals if that's an option. More on reddit.com

How is the microphone being used? Is it on a desk or is it to be mounted onto a camera? Everyone thus far has recommended desktop microphones but you mentioned vlogs, and vlogs tend to be on the go. If the mic is to be mounted onto the camera, Rodes new Mic Go II ($100) has been performing well. If you're after a more budget option, Rode's Video Micro ($60) is a nice starting option. If she wants something on the desk, and doesn't mind syncing the audio to her videos later, check out Samson's Q2U. It's a highly recommended starter dynamic microphone, and it can work over USB (though it has XLR if she wants to go deep into that space). The others here have mentioned Blue and Elgato condenser microphones. These are easy to use but, they pick up everything. Fridge running in the back? It gets that. Dynamic microphones may help with cutting out background noise to an extent but the speaker does kind of need to be right on the microphone (like you're eating it). I want to say first that I know The usb mics are overpriced and XLR is the way to go This isn't really true, and if you do not already have an interface that accepts XLR inputs, and XLR mic is useless to you. It isn't really important what you buy as long as it isn't trash. If you actually put the work in to learn what you're doing, you can buy a mic with knowledge in couple years.
