I'd like to purchase an Amazon gift card from Best Buy since they accept PayPal. It doesn't seem to specify in the terms that gift cards are not allowed. Can anyone confirm?
If not, is it possible to get the promo by getting a PayPal credit card and then checking out?
There's a graphics card I want that will only go on sale on Amazon and it's a lot of money...
I've checked the terms of the offer and also the general rewards agreement, and this does not seem to be prohibited but this is a big risk since gift cards aren't refundable
I placed an order for the Sora Amiibo, store pickup, and paid via PayPal. However, the order doesn't even show up in my order history, and PayPal still says authorization in progress.
I only ask cuz it's never been like this before for me. I even did another order just today, and the same thing is happening. Not showing up in my orders.
If anyone is planning to buy the MacBook Air M4, check your PayPal account to see if you’ve received the “20% Off Pay Later” offer (up to $250). I just bought one from Best Buy and used PayPal Pay Later, and it worked. You can pay in 4 interest free installments and get 20% back. Pretty good deal imo
I bought something from Best Buy yesterday with Pay in 4 for the 20% discount, and when I tried to buy something else today, I no longer see pay in 4. It’s not showing up for me on different sites either. Anyone else run into this issue? This is the first time I’ve used any kind of pay later system with PayPal
Edit: looks like I got the option again after 24 hours
An order was placed on Best Buy using Pay in 4, it’s been almost a week since the order was placed and it’s still stuck in “Order Received”. The initial payment was taken from the account already. Has anyone had this happen to them before?
PayPal is running a special with 20% back when using their Pay in 4 option. So for example, I buy something for $600, am I billed $150 or they deduct $150 from my bank account associated with them every two weeks? Or do they put the $150 on my PayPal Credit card on a every two week schedule and I pay it on my own? Getting $120 back seems like a good deal so I want to make sure I am using this option correctly without paying interests. Thanks!
I’m trying to use the cash back offer on best buy right now, and up until a few hours ago it was working for a new MacBook. However this is an older PayPal account so I had to change my legal name (put a fake one before no idea why), billing address, and add a new card. However when I went to go check out using 4 now it only allows monthly installments now, which with the interest makes the cash back not worth it anymore. Is the offer gone or is it due to all the changes to my account?
Edit: I got a fraud detection email so I think it was just my bank being careful! According to someone else in the comments they were able to get it working again a day after. My friend did check out for me and was able to pay in 4, but I’ll try on another item on my own account tomorrow to see. A lot of people seem to be having issues though, why does PayPal have to be so shady about it lol.
I wanted to know what stores / websites were excluded from the Paypal Pay in 4 earn 20% cash back until early December.

PayPal limited the recent Pay in 4 promo to one eligible purchase per customer, moving away from the previous dollar limit. They will be honoring purchases made before this point under the old terms, according to the email.
I hope you all got your MS in! 😁

I've been an eBay seller for about 15 years now and exclusively use PayPal through eBay but have never used the pay in 4 option before. I really have 2 questions, i got far enough in the checkout screen where the next click will complete the transaction but i don't see the cash back banner anywhere how do i know that it will be applied to my order?
Also to be clear this is interest fee correct? I suppose the cash back would be more than the interest but i don't use BNPL services because they have interest built into the cost and as I always have fluid funds from sales I don't have issues paying up front but as far as I can tell this is almost just "free" 20% back because the 4 payments dont appear to add any interest?
Thanks for the help!
I used Pay in Four on Best Buy to buy a GPU + motherboard. Right after I placed the order, the GPU went out of stock and Best Buy automatically cancelled that part of the purchase.
The GPU would have netted me the full 25,000 points, but since it got cancelled I won't get nearly that many. And because the is a one-time use offer, I basically lost the full benefit even though the cancellation wasn’t my fault.
Has anyone dealt with this before?
Does PayPal ever reset the offer when a retailer cancels part of the order?
Need help. I just made 2 Pay-in-4 transactions, both of which were successful. However, when i tried to make a third one, it is no longer an option.
Now i feel like a dumbass, and not grouping all the items together.
Hey folks,
I just discovered this, but Paypal Pay-in-4 actually supports putting a credit card as your method of purchase, and it'll actually give you cashback! I bought an iPad for my brother for Christmas, and although I could theoretically pay it off instantly it by pulling a little bit from my reserves, I paid with it with Paypal Pay-in-4 through Best Buy, splitting up the ~600 dollar purchase for 4 equal payments over about 6 weeks.
The second transaction just posted to my credit card, which I used an American Express Blue Cash Everyday, and it correctly coded as online retail, giving me 3% cashback. We're in a high-interest rate environment, so you're committing a bit of arbitrage by letting it sit in an HYSA, having your cake and eating it, along with getting cash back. In addition, the Pay-in-4 Loan does not go on your credit report, so you can "hide" some legitimate debt and tack it on via putting it on your credit cards later.
For the math: you're getting a 3-4 month 0 APR loan (the time it takes for Pay-in-4 to end + the time to pay the balance) + ~3% cashback, so around a 4-5% in total that scales linearly (assuming you have the equivalent funds in a HYSA).
Word of note: the Credit Cards you can use as your payment method seems arbitrary. I couldn't actually use my Paypal Mastercard as the Pay-in-4 method for whatever reason, it just gave me a list of a few of the cards I had linked in my account. YMMV
Thought it might be useful for any min-maxxers out here!
Hi, I’m trying to buy myself the Lenovo Legion Go S from Best Buy using PayPal’s pay in 4 system for the 20% off reward, but keep getting an error:
“Sorry, we couldn't approve your application We'll send you an email with more details. In the meantime, you can still check out quickly and securely with Paypal.”
Which is then followed by, “We regret that we are unable to approve your request at this time for the following reason:
We were unable to retrieve a report from a consumer reporting agency.”
Which is strange because I consistently use PayPal linked through my bank, and I apparently have $2,700 pre-qualified in ‘pay-later cash’. I don’t understand, how should I go about this? Happy holidays.
so as with most aspiring 3D printing hobbyists my original choice of the cheap black friday a1 mini combo ultimately turned into almost getting a p1s with ams2 pro. but thankfully i held off just a little bit longer because i see the p2s is out today. and its only $180 more than the p1s combo. but if you utilize the current PayPal pay in 4 installments promotion you can get 20% cash back on this purchase. so with a 20% cash back offer on the newly released p2s it really is a no brainer.
Is this Paypal 20% off officially a broken scam? I'm trying to give Lenovo and Best Buy money but none of it makes any sense at all. On my Paypal site it shows I have a 'saved' 20% cash back on one 'pay later' purchase, but when I try to check out on Best Buy's website my only options are pay in full, pay in 4, paypal credit, pay monthly.
Even though they are completely different terms is the pay in 4 suppose to mean pay later? But that's not true because it shows 4 payments of $121.21 each, which just full price $450 plus tax. So there's nothing even remotely close. The 'shop now' button through PayPal takes me to download the PayPal app for no reason at all that means nothing...so is it confirmed this does not work? The 20% off for whatever 'pay later' means does NOT work at all?
