I bought an iPad for my nephew for Christmas, but found out that my brother had the exact same gift in mind. What can you say, brothers think alike? I'll probably end up returning the iPad.
Now, if my returning the iPad unopened would reduce return expenses for Best Buy, I would not hesitate to do that. However I've heard that items are opened up for inspection anyway during returns. In that case would it really be so bad for me to open it up and play with it a little first? I promise to be really careful.
Is there any reason why I shouldn't do that? Does it make a difference in any way? Would it, for instance, look better on my return record if I return it untouched? (I've heard nightmare stories about TRE-rejected returns.) Is it more work for employees? (Say, with cleaning it up before putting it back on the shelf. What if I wear gloves and leave not a single fingerprint?)
I realize this is all a very trivial matter. I don't even know why I have such a strong urge to open it. Many apologies for the ridiculousness of my questions.
