So I've been looking at cameras on the used market for a while but still haven't really decided what camera I want since there are so many out there with their own pros and cons. I've been looking at the Sony A6400 or the Canon 90D.
My budget is around $800 and I'm probably going to take photos more than videos.

I have the Sony a6400 and it’s an incredible camera for the price point, very good auto focus and the massive lens selection for e-mount. Plus the form factor is a nice size.

It’s a little above your budget but if you can find a used Ricoh GRIII, that’s the one you want. It’s an APS-C sized sensor in a camera the same size as many 1” sensor point and shoot cameras. the gx85 is solid but honestly for your budget I'd go straight for a used rx100 iii or iv if you can find one. the 1 inch sensor blows away any phone and the lens is actually pretty versatile for travel stuff fuji x100s has that film look everyone loves but the fixed 35mm might get limiting depending on what kind of travel shots you're after. if you're cool with that focal length though the colors are chef's kiss
