Club or Anti-Theft Device Recommendation

take fuel pump fuse or relay out. Will allow the car to crank but wont ever start. No thief wants to be around a car tryign to crank and not start - draws more attention than a stupid alarm that everyone ignores.

Is "The Club" or a similar steering wheel-locking device advisable for a RAV in a high-theft city?
if you're that concerned, it's best to go buy the IGLA anti theft system. it encrypts your canbus so it cannot be stolen via the headlights, and also it requires you to input a password of your choice on your steering wheels button before shifting into drive. Otherwise it'll just shut off the engine. If you opened your door while driving it and close it, you'll need to re-enter the password as it also has "anti car jacking" security. The IGLA system basically guarantees your car will not get stolen, as people can get into your car, but they'll never be able to turn it on and drive away with it without knowing the password. I know this because I have a friend with a hellcat which people try to steal on a daily basics in Chicago. The IGLA alarm has saved his car from being stolen so many times already, so it could definitely be of use for you, but it's really annoying sometimes if u wanna just turn the car on and go real fast, as now you'll need to enter the password everytime, or just carry the bypass dongle with you, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having the IGLA system installed lol. Edit, but if you're looking for cheap, literally go put a killswitch for your fuel pump. lol your car won't turn on, you just need to go buy a oem looking switch that can have other logo on the switch itself to throw off the people trying to steal your car. On my older car I have a killswitch on my fuel pump that is behind a button that is hidden out of sight. I rarely drive this car, so it's just sitting most of the time. More on reddit.com

Best anti-theft methods/devices?
Pop the hood. Open your fuse box. Locate your starter relay and yank it. Now go open your trunk. Lift up the mat and put it in the spare tire well. Car won't start without the relay installed. That's enough to deter most thieves. More on reddit.com

I am subscribed to my community watch and cannot believe the amount of auto theft in Burlington lately. We have our keys in a special box, but I don't think that's stopping these car thieves.

Any recs would be fantastic. I know nothing about this stuff and Google isn't helpful right now!

July 24, 2015 - They’ve been around for decades, but one of the best car-theft protection devices is this tool that locks your steering wheel into place. Perhaps the most famous such device is The Club. Attaching a lock to your steering wheel means the wheel can’t be turned to steer the vehicle. Cost: $25-$100. Instead of locking the steering wheel, you could lock an exterior vehicle wheel with a tire clamp or boot device. It is another of the best car anti-theft devices.

March 23, 2024 -

Living in ABQ, NM, and this place is a little rough. Should I get The Club, or a competing product?

Mine is a 2007 with 367k miles on it, so I'm not inclined to spend a ton for fancier methods.

I mean, it’s not going to hurt. No one is stealing your car to export it, so crime of opportunity. If you have The Club or something like it, similar car doesn’t, they take the other car. But I think we both know it’s not going to stop someone determined.
