Any opinions on carpet from homeowners with allergies?

Best Flooring for Allergy Sufferers?
I’m curious: what are the conflicts you’ve seen?
Everything I’ve read recommends hard floors for allergy sufferers. Over time, carpeting traps and breeds all sorts of allergens like dander, dust mites, pollen, mold, and insects.
Beyond that, VOCs from bad/illegal sources of lumber is a concern for wood floors, as are high VOC paints and bedding.

Hey, everyone!
I've been living in a home for a couple years that has synthetic carpet and have been having issues with my sinuses and middle ear. I had issues before moving in, but the symptoms have changed. Some are better, some much worse.
Have any of your gotten rid of your carpet and had significantly improved symptoms regarding allergies, sinus, ear or lung function, etc?
I am shopping for new carpeting for my bedrooms. Although I have been told to install hardwood or LVP since I have bad allergies, I still desire carpeting for my bedrooms.
The carpet store if pushing Anderson Tuftex manufactured by Shaw in polyester. They suggested either 100% Anso High Performance SD PET or 100% SD PET Polyester.
I had heard that nylon is the best fiber for wearability and had initially thought it would be my choice. Will I be making a mistake going with the polyester due to my allergies? I, however, don't want matted carpet in a year or two which someone mentioned as a possibility on a different reddit posting when using polyester. It is only my husband and I, no children or pets.
Thanks in advance for any comments!
