Best credit card for college student
If I could go back I would get the Discover It, if you don’t have much credit history you may need to get the student cash back card, but it is pretty much the same as the regular one. The 5% rotating categories is pretty nice and it has the cash back matching for the first year. Other ones that would be good are the citi double cash or the fidelity 2% credit card. I believe those are fairly easy for people to get and get 2% on everything. More on reddit.com
Best Credit Card for Students?
Lots of people saying Chase. I'm a rebel and think Chase is overrated. My personal opinion is that the Capital One SavorOne Student is by far the best student card: No annual fee (great for keeping open into adulthood to anchor your age of credit) No foreign transaction fee & is a MasterCard (great for travel/study abroad) Great multipliers for college student spending habits, and also into adulthood 3x on dining, groceries, streaming, entertainment (shows, sports, movies, bars, bowling, etc) 10x on Uber & Uber Eats (plus free Uber One membership) until Nov 2024 Pairs well with the Venture X, which is a great card to pick up once you've got a job, making a really simple but powerful 2-card combo Discover it Cash Back Student is fine too, but less widely accepted abroad and doesn't hit categories as well imo. I'd even suggest a QuickSilver Student before the Freedom Rise since it has no foreign transaction fee. More on reddit.com
Best credit cards for a college student with good credit
The discover student card is fantastic. They usually start your limit pretty low (I think I started with $1000), but they regularly increase credit limits every 6-12 months. Whatever you do, remember not to close your old card so it doesn't go off your credit report. More on reddit.com

How many cashback credit cards should I have?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how many cashback credit cards you should have. It depends entirely on your financial situation and spending habits. If you’re confident you can manage multiple accounts responsibly, having more than one card could help you maximise cashback rewards across different spending categories. However, it’s essential to avoid taking on more cards than you can manage. Missing payments or carrying a balance could lead to interest charges that outweigh any cashback benefits. Always prioritise paying off your balance each month.

What credit card would you recommend for a college student who’s opening a credit card for the first time. I’ve been looking into a Discover IT card but don’t know if I should do the regular one, student, or student chrome card. I also know little to nothing about APY, APR, intro fees and that stuff so if someone could explain that stuff in terms a toddler can understand that would be epic.

C1 Savor Student, AMEX Blue Cash Everyday, Chase Freedom Rise (upgrades to Unlimited after 1 year)), USBank Shoppers. I think you should get something that covers more categories with a lower yet more spread CB% than just 5% in a single category. (My first year I was 17, so I couldn’t have a CC, but if I did I would’ve opened the USB Shoppers, I spent 80% of my money at target/walmart, so the extra % in those would’ve been nice) Ideally you should list what your monthly spend is and then break it down by category and how much you spend in each. If your set on discover tho, I would one that has a SUB where you can finish the spend requirement
