Hi all. We are moving next week to a new home and getting mostly new furniture since most of what we had was old, cheap, broken, etc. For our living room I have already ordered a Stressless Mayfair Recliner which I'm very much looking forward to. This will be the main family TV room, but I'm also going to use an extra bedroom upstairs as my home office/personal TV room). I'll have a small desk in there to use my laptop but really looking forward to have a private space to watch sports or other shows that my wife and son aren't interested in.
In a perfect world there'd be some kind of single chair that can double as a comfortable computer chair and TV chair/recliner but more than likely I'll end up with both. Any recommendations? I'm looking to spend much less than I spent on the Stressless since that was already a big splurge.
I've been looking for something akin to an Eams chair but more affordable, yet still decent quality. Something comfortable for lounging that I can easily fit in a bedroom, without breaking the bank.
What are your suggestions?

I have a lot of constant neck pain from weight lifting and working long hours.
It's being worked on with the fysio. However, what are some good lounge chairs that sit amazing?
So you can really relax at night, while it's not bed time yet. Just to watch TV or read a book.
Especially support on the neck would be amazing
I am having the devil of a time finding an ergonomic living room chair for me to watch TV. There are recliners galore, but they are over stuffed monsters without the many variable positioning controls that you can routinely find in well-designed office chairs. My poor sciatic troubled lower back thanks you for any suggestions.
So I'm currently living in an apartment, I ordered a TV for black friday. I have a space about 3 feet wide for a small couch, or some bean bag chairs.
What's a cost effective, and comfy solution for this?
I (180cm, 60kg) use my PC both for work and leisure. I don't own a TV so I also watch Movies on it, which is why I got into the habit of putting my legs/feet on the table to relax. That means I move my ass forward to sit on the front of the seat and use the backrest as a headrest. It's really comfortable I swear!
So far I've used a 2015 DXRacer, and it was pretty good at that tbh. But of course it was pretty bad for tasking because the back got almost 0 support. Now it's gotten really worn down over the course of 8 years and I decided that it's time for a new chair.
First I tried out the Logitech Embody but sadly had to send it back. The Lumbar Bulge was too deep and not adjustable. It just dug into my back too much. Also the (very comfy) seat was quite "slippery", because any time I started relaxing I slided down a few centimeters. So it wasn't good for sitting properly or relaxing imo.
I then tried the Secretlab Titan, but that thing is hard as a rock. The "Racing Shape" is also worse than my old DXRacer, restricting movement a lot more. I'm still within the trial period and plan to return it.
Now I'm not even sure anymore if there's a chair that's both good for ergonomic working AND "legs on the table movie watching". Maybe the Haworth Fern without the Lumbar support could work? Do you guys have an idea or should I give up and focus on 1 aspect?
I'm 5"7', 145 - 155 pounds. I don't sit "correctly" most of the time, tending to sit cross-legged in my chair a lot, reclining, folding one foot under my butt, etc. So things like adjustable arm rests, a wide enough seat, and recline lock are important to me.
I need something that will be comfortable for hours of writing and teaching online at my desk, but *also* something I can recline in to watch a movie and relax. Something that doesn't force me to "sit correctly" all the time, because in the long run I believe that will be more uncomfortable for me.
Unfortunately, money *is* an issue (if you saw my other post), but just drop whatever recommendations you have and I'll figure out the rest as best as I can.
I will ask (in conjunction with your recs) if the Alera Elusion Series Mesh High-Back Multifunction Chair would suit my needs? I've read mixed reviews. I know it's a "cheaper" chair, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049UCECE/
I appreciate your help, thank you.
I just moved into a room and I would like to have a chair or something to sit in so I can watch tv without having to be in my bed all the time.
I’m 270lbs and 6’
It doesn’t have to rock or do anything fancy. Just be comfortable to sit in all day.
My budget isn’t that big or else I’d have just gotten a lazy boy.
Any help would be great.
Living alone comrades, I am here to seek important advice!
I want comfort, extreme comfort where I can be for hours and even be able to fall asleep.
We all need to have proper rest and lazy days from time to time, what you using? Living alone gives us freedom to do and choose whatever we want without being judged and I am ready to take advantage of this! 😌
Sofa? Lounge chair with a footstool? Hammock? Egg chair? Beanbag? Whatever else?
I suffer from sciatica, but have noticed that whenever I use an ergonomic chair at work, there is significant relief. So, I am seeking a comfortable, but overstuffed, living room chair to use while watching TV or reading. I am having the devil of a time trying to find a suitable one. Either there are roll around desk office chairs with great adjustments available or a plush, luxurious recliner that would swallow me and does not offer all the body controls I am seeking. Thoughts?
I’m in need of a new chair for gaming and watching movies in front of a tv.
I’m considering a Poang, a regular or recliner Strandmon or a Muren, but i’m open for other suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
Looking for something non expensive but comfy to kind of lounge and chill in while watching movies and gaming, etc... also as an alternative to just sitting in bed while doing that.
Thanks!
