This article explains why cases turn yellow. It's the material Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). So look at the material of a case and if it says "TPU" or "TPE" (TPE is an older cheaper version of TPU AFAIK) then it will yellow.. Polycarbonate (PC) is a hard clear plastic, and it does not yellow. Apple cases are 100% PC, but they are also unpleasant. I bought one and returned it because it started to crack, was expensive, and was unpleasant to hold. For example, Spigen Liquid Crystal just like all soft clear cases is TPU and will yellow in about 5-6 months despite any marketing claims. But they are cheap on Amazon and I used to just replace it every 6 months for about $10. I currently use Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit . The back is Polycarbonate and won't yellow. The edges are soft TPU and the edges will yellow over time though I had one for a year and never noticed it. It's less noticeable on the edges and it depends on how much heat it is exposed to. So no matter what case you shop for, just understand the materials. PC won't yellow but TPU/TPE will. Either live with some risk of yellowing and don't pay too much so you can replace it or pull a replacement guarantee with the manufacturer (often requires you to buy directly from them for a higher price, not amazon) Or shop for a PC case like this one (just a randomly chosen one.). Search Amazon for "iphone 13 pro max polycarbonate case". EDIT. Never Mind, it looks like this one is a TPU/PC hybrid as well. Honestly most PC/TPU hybrids hold up really well and aren't expensive. September 12, 2022 - I have the Roxx Clear Case. It's exactly the same as Apple's case (also TC) but has the bottom covered and metal buttons that are easier to press. For half the price. It's a German store though, so you'll have to be in Europe.

August 17, 2021 - I think the only clear case that can beat Mous Case is Rebel Case. Rebel 3rd Gen will have stronger magnet about 3 times stronger. Different colours to chose from. Hopefully will be released very soon.

My graphite iPhone 13 Pro Max came in today and I need to get a case on it ASAP to protect that stainless steel. I’m looking for a minimalistic case that is either clear or matte black. I’m sad they didn’t release a dark black color for the Pro this year, I was really looking forward to it from the leaks. I decided to switch up and go graphite this year since I went silver for my 12 Pro Max, but I guess there’s always next year for a dark black 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyways, I’m looking for a minimalistic, thin case and I was just wondering what suggestions you guys have. I bought my parents the Spivey Ultra Hybrid clear case for their new 13 Pro’s, and I like it, but I was just wondering if there were any other good suggestions out there, especially for matte black. I had the Apple Leather case for my 12 Pro Max and was really disappointed in it compared to the Apple Leather case I had for my 11 Pro. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks!

EDIT: Also I would like the case to be MagSafe compatible! I’ve learned that not all thin cases are MagSafe compatible for whatever reason. I really just don’t want a big ring on the back of my case lol 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

You’re spot on for the find, but from using this with my iPhone 12 and 12 mini, I’d say that it’s a bit too thick. For the 13 pm, i look for protection that doesn’t enlarge the profile of the phone by too much. With that being said, for ABSOLUTELY great protection for a good price, this is a great option.

That case is too thick I believe, iPhone 13 pm is already difficult to hold. IMO this is a better case as it has MagSafe as well and the sides are thinner as well as offering protection. I spent so long searching for a case that wasn't made from TPU so it didn't yellow, and I finally found the Poetic Guardian case. The clear part is made from polycarbonate and the colored bumper is made from TPU. Ive been researching the best protective cases for my iPhone, as I’m a somewhat frequent dropper. Most of the results recommend Mous, Phone Rebel, Rhinoshield, etc. but Im not sure which one to choose. I’m looking for something with high protection and that keeps dust away from collecting between the phone and case. I know rhinoshield and mous can break screen protectors due to the high raised edge, so I was thinking of buying phone rebel frosted gen 3. Thoughts?

Ive always had mous and phonerebel, they are of the same quality, id say phonerebel is a little more comfortable to hold but that is it. My iphones never broke. They can fall on hard floors or tile fron 2-3 meters and not a single dent. Dbrand grip is also a option but very weak magsafe magnets. Ive had a pixel 2XL that broke with a rhinoshield from knee hight so take that how you will.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid. Costs far less than the apple clear case, just as thin, and more durable. Highly recommend it. Purchase it on Amazon, do not order from their site (it costs far more for some reason).

April 19, 2022 - I like knowing that this product was tailor made for the iPhone and for the long run is good if you’re feeling up to using other MagSafe accessories. The clear offering also is very yellow and scratch resistant and it can survive some abuse while keeping your phone protected pretty well. My lady dropped and tumbled her 12 pro max on the subway tracks and once it was retrieved, it was still i pristine condition and the case was still decent.

So I don't have the 13 Pro Max yet, have my Pixel 5 but when I upgrade this year from Verizon I'm planning on getting a 13 Pro Max. With that being said I know it's a bigger phone than what I have now, and I'm not sure which case to get. I know it's a little bit premature but I figured I'd ask you guys anyways... November 25, 2022 - I dropped my 14 Pro over the edge of an escalator at the top and the case made it survive! It's on pure concrete. The only damage was a small dent in the side of the case! iPhone is immaculate. The case is surprisingly durable. I used it on my 13 for a year and it did not yellow one bit.

I would recommend cases by Caudabe. I have been using their cases since iPhone X and they hold up my iPhone pretty good. For really good coverage, I would say Synthesis by Caudabe. But if you want a sleek looking case and doesn't compromise on coverage much, then go for Sheath by Caudabe. Also, their cases won't leave a huge hole in your wallet 😆 Price-to-Quality value is immaculate. I'm saying this out of personal experience and preference. Feel free to look around other cases from Casetify, Spigen, Tech21 etc.

I’ve been using my iPhone 13 Pro Max and a mous case cover for almost three years now, and my old case has finally started to show its age; scratches all over the back and generally worn out. I think it’s time for a replacement!

I’ve been looking at the Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagSafe (Zero One), but before I make a decision, I wanted to ask: what cases are you all using for your iPhone 13 Pro Max? Any recommendations or personal favorites you’d suggest?

Spigen isn't a bad choice. what kind of case are you mainly looking for? if your main thing is protection, apart from the usual "military grade" stuff i also like it to be completely transparent so i can see any damage. spigen does have good designs. sometimes i like to mix it up but looks like you want something simple, so none of the easy grip or mounting the wall things (i mean things like this which everyone seems to have different names for). some similar fancy ones aren't compatible with magsafe so no matter how fancy a cover looks make sure to check (learned that the hard way) . personally, i can still compromise on that if the protection is solid

I got the iPhone 12 pro and the case fit extremely tight and got scuff marks around the edges. I just received my case for the 13 pro and it fits nicer and the buttons are way easier to press. I wanted to see if anyone else noticed this.

I didn’t notice cause I didn’t have a 12 Pro but I JUST bought my third case since the first two clear ones I got (official apple clear magsafe) had scuff marks before I put it on my phone. Luckily third times a charm. Im wondering if that’s common or shipping messed it up? Il

I never had the clear case for the 12 but I have the clear case for the 13. I found that a lot of the complaints people had for the 12 weren't there for the 13. I didn't find it slippery, I thought the buttons were clicky and it was a solid case overall.

I will admit that I switched over to the silicone case because I love the pink polemo color but I would've kept it otherwise

Here’s my take. I love these with the translucent back, magsafe compatibility and thick frame. It’s the balance between versatility, looks and protection. Out of all of the cases I’ve tried, it’s my favorite

I also like the “military-grade” phone cases (2nd picture). These turn your phone into adamantium, but tend to be bulky.

Transparent phone cases tend to yellow, so I don’t like them at all

Speigen has always made pretty good cases, I’ve been using them for years. I’m currently using the tech-woven case for my 17P and it’s holding up pretty well (though I’ve seen people post about bubbles appear in their cases). My favorite case of all time was when Magpul made a case using the same kind of plastic as their P-Mags that just felt really nice in the hand. I wish they would make cases for newer phones.

August 12, 2021 - I have the Elando Clear Case on my iPhone 12 and I love it! ... They all yellow unless you get a hard shell one that's made from plastic. I had one for my 3g back in the day and it still hasn't yellowed.
