Starting the process of replacing my wardrobe with higher quality clothing but not sure where to do my shopping. I’m looking for everyday clothing, not too concerned about price (but nothing unnecessarily expensive), and ideally on the modest side.
l usually shop at places like Target, Old Navy, Kohl's, but I'm tired of everything looking cheap and misshapen after just a few wears (or even immediately). So I threw out most of my clothes to start over.
I just got a couple shirts and a pair of shorts from ASRV and on first impression, the quality seems much better. The fabric feels more premium and the overall construction feels more solid.
I need more clothes like this. Things that are well made, comfortable, and intentional. Not really looking for name recognition or anything. Just brands that have good t-shirts, shorts, jeans, and the occasional polo. I am a bigger guy (losing weight though), so I need brands that make at least XL, but preferably 2X.
Also I do value brands that are focused on sustainability and ethically sourced materials and labor.
Hello everyone,
I am looking for a brand to buy t shirts, hoodies, sweaters, and some essential clothing from. I have heard on Reddit a lot of good brands have dropped in quality like Reigning Champ, Lululemon, Astek, Uniqlo, and etc.
Is there a brand that you currently love for essential clothing right now (2025)?
Thank you to everyone who comments!
Which clothing brand sells less expensive (not cheap, less expensive) good quality clothes like Hanes , Fruit of the loom , Puma etc ...
I know that the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ is mostly true when it comes to cheap items, but after a certain price you’re not getting quality and you’re more paying for the reputation that comes with a designer label.
What clothing brands do you feel hit that ‘worth the cost’ phrase without being too expensive for no reason?
Edit: wow this post blew up. By the way when I said ‘too expensive for no reason’ I meant paying for designer brands where the extra $ isn’t an increase in quality but rather for the reputation of the brand itself.
I want clothes for nice group dinners and work but I don't want fast fashion, Uber labels (e.g., Prada, Dior, etc) or the run of the mill stuff everyone has like Banana Republic or JCrew. What are the higher quality brands or online stores folks are using? Here are a few that have been popping into my feed but Ive only bought from about 4 of them:
Marni, Maje, Anne Fontaine, Staud, Marine Layer, Boden, Sezane, Veronica Beard, Alice + Olivia, Ted Baker, Reiss, Melloday, Zimmerman
