I would greatly appreciate help finding a full-sized comforter (not a duvet) that I can put in the dryer without destroying/melting the stuffing. I’ve had them in the past, but I’m having trouble finding a new one. I’m looking to spend maybe $60 at the least (since I’m having bad luck with quality) and $150 at the most. I’m avoiding polyester for the outer fabric. Any suggestions for brands or specific comforters would be great!
I’m adding a photo of something I like…just a regular comforter 😊
*IN the washing machine. Not on .
Hello, I am helping some family with their air bnb this summer. What is a good comforter I can wash after each stay in a washing machine? I can use my machine since I live near by. But also any recommendations for when we eventually get an apartment sized washer in there?
Thank you!

This might not exist but I need it to. I am looking for a high quality comforter that ideally can be machine washed and does not require a duvet. My husband hates the way a duvet “feels” and our white down comforter that requires dry cleaning is looking very dingy. If I can’t find machine washable how about just not white?! Help!
I’m going to grad school and need a comforter but I won’t have a car so I can’t just drive to a laundromat easily. I have a laundry machine in the building but it’s not HUGE. So I’m looking for a comforter/duvet insert that isn’t too expensive (I’m a student) but is machine washable and decent quality 🥺 any advice and help is appreciated! Thank you! 🥹
I hate my duvet/cover scenario. I want a really wonderful, 1-piece comforter. Machine washable, please. Under $300 for a King would be ideal.
I can run hot but I also love a little weight on me. I’ve been eyeing Quince comforters but will take any recs. Thank you!
EDIT: To clarify — one piece means I don’t want a duvet + insert. Just a comforter… or maybe a quilt since some of those ideas are sounding good.
Hi all. I'm looking for something that I can throw into the washer and dryer and I don't have to insert into a cover. Ideally the material would be something that doesn't attract pet hairs as I have a cat, and is also less than $300, but any recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance.
I've been looking on reddit and other places online, and have realized its hard to find exactly what I'm looking for. I want a comforter that is not a duvet insert that I don't need to buy a duvet cover for. Other than that, my main requirements are that it is not warm (I'm a hot sleeper), and is machine washable.
I've been reading recommendations about bamboo, silk, or a lower percentage down comforter but I don't care too much about material as long as its soft and sleeps cool.
Final thing I realized I should include is that my budget is ~$200. Does anyone have recommendations or places I should be looking?
I’m sick of the duvet cover. I figured if I kept practicing it would be easier but it never got easier. Maybe if it wasn’t a king I would have an easier time.
If you have dogs that get on your bed and you like to wash your stuff a lot, what do you recommend? Like do you do a comforter? Which seems like a lot to wash? Or a quilt that is kinda just flat and sad? Any hacks? I can’t kick the dog out.. I like her too much 😭
I currently have a duvet with a cover and I wash the cover regularly, but have the hardest time getting the duvet/comforter to fit in my front load washer. I don’t live in an area with a decent laundromat and I don’t want to pay for dry cleaning over and over. Any recommendations for a king comforter that’s all-season, gets compact AND wash well at home?
Hi! I'm looking for a comforter or quilt for my parents - they're hoping to find something very specific that I haven't been able to find! Has anyone found something like this?
-
Non-down (alternative, cotton, or wool is fine!)
-
Machine washable
-
Doesn't need a duvet cover (will be used on its own)
-
Not white - some sort of pattern or colorful
-
Soft and not crunchy/stiff
-
Lightweight
-
Light-medium warmth
-
Durable (they have a cat)
I've looked at the Company Store, Parachute, Woolino, LL Bean, and Brooklinen but haven't found something like this yet! Would greatly appreciate any recommendations :). Thanks so much!
I love feather-filled down comforters because they feel so natural and cozy but they don’t seem to make machine washable ones(?).
Has anyone here found a great warm and cozy comforter for kids that’s also machine washable? Amazon is full of synthetic ones but I was wondering if maybe there is something that’s both feather-filled and machine washable? One of our kid still pees the bed sometimes, so that’s why.
Thanks!
I need affordable (under $150) recommendations for a comforter that is warm and decent quality but washes and dries easily in a standard home washing machine and dryer. I have a cat that spends a lot of time on my bed and my comforter gets coated in hair and needs to be washed often, but the one I have is too thick to be washed in my washing machine. Taking it to the laundromat every time it needs a wash is not realistic for me considering how quickly it gets dirty. I need something thinner, yet still warm and cozy for winter. I would like to be able to wash it at least every month, if not more often.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Title. I run pretty hot and I also am tired of the task that is putting a duvet cover on by myself (the struggle is real). Would love something that has some color but haven't found any great options online. Also have a dog if there are any that repel fur better than others, but that's secondary. Thx!
My bedding got destroyed again in the washer. This time it was a cotton fabric with polyester filling comforter. I’m so tired of buying bedding that’s seems to be a one time use.
The insides clumped together, one of the tags like melted, and a massive stain appeared- it looks like I dumped a bottle of foundation on it. I’m so disappointed.
I always follow the instructions- wash in cold, tumble dry low. But between my washer and dryer, one of them always destroying my bedding.
After not having a bed for a few months I just wanted to freshen up my bedding so it would have smelled nice but now this is destroyed. I was so excited to finally sleep on a bed tonight. 😭
The title pretty much says it all: I'm looking to buy a good and proper duvet, rather than using the polyester comforters I've had since I was a kid. The ones I've had since childhood are polyester, which causes me to sweat. (Also scratchy as heck for some reason.)
I'm one of those people who always radiates heat even in the coldest of situations. So I want a cooling duvet that can be used with a cover. Preferably one that doesn't contain a spec of polyester, microfiber, or any of those other sweat-inducing synthetics.
Unfortunately, I also take in special needs animals. Sometimes the kitty can't control himself--he's prone to UTIs, so sometimes he wets my bed. He's also prone to vomiting because he has a weak stomach. So I need a duvet that can be put in the washing machine at the laundromat if I have to. (I would never try and use the one at my apartment--it's too small and likes to ruin my clothes.) It may even have to go to the laundry multiple times a week, depending on how rough Kitty is feeling. (Doing well for now, thanks for asking. He sees a vet regularly and they're doing their best.)
Does anyone have any advice?
One of the duvets I'm looking at is the Buffy Breeze--it's 100% Eucalyptus, but it also says dry clean only. However, I've owned a lot of "dry clean only" outfits and they've been just fine going through the wash.... so, does anyone know if it would be okay to put the Buffy Breeze duvet in the washing machine even though it says not to? I'm just not comfortable "spot cleaning" when it comes to cat piss.
I would go for down alternative for sure, but I would also but a duvet cover over it and the top sheet on top instead of between you and the duvet.
We do that with our dog for shedding. I wash the top sheet or coverlet or fluffy blanket we use to cover the duvet more often. And we switch it out between different types of cover ups depending on temperature and all that.
You may want to stick to thinner materials on all that.
Maybe try out Ikea’s thinnest down alternative duvet insert. They come at a great price and are pretty good quality. Worst case if it doesn’t work out not a big loss.
For sheets I would get something more breathable than ikea sheets.
Did you end up finding something ? I am in the exact same boat !!!
Does anyone have any Washable Bedspread recommendations? I currently have a down comforter with a duvet which is a pain in the rear end to take off, wash, and put back on if a guest leaves a stain on it and am looking for something that looks good, warm, and is washable for our king size bed.
