I have a giant king pure linen duvet cover that I place a silk stuffed comforter in. It's like covering up with butterfly wings of warmth. In summer we put a thin cotton quilt in the duvet cover. Hangs to the bottom of the highest mattress.

I know this is not exactly what you’re looking for, but….I recently switched to a quilt, rather than a comforter and I have zero regrets. I got one from Land’s End that is modern, with a velvety texture. It’s a wonderful weight, looks attractive, and can be layered with blankets/sheets to get the perfect temp.
