Are down comforters better?
Down comforters are known for the luxurious feeling they offer, but there are now plenty of down alternatives that can feel just as sensational. If you are allergic to down or worried about the implications of choosing a down comforter, a down alternative option can be just as wonderful. If you don’t want to choose down or a material that mimics down, there are plenty of other fill options for comforter sets in Canada.
What size comforter set should I choose?
You should choose a comforter set that is the same size as your bed. Because comforter sets often come with matching sheets, you should always match your comforter set to the size of your mattress. It can be tempting to choose a larger size so the comforter drapes comfortably over the sides of the bed, but then you won’t be able to use the other pieces that come with the set.
How long do comforter sets last in Canada?
A down comforter or duvet insert can last for up to twenty years when it is properly cared for. On the other hand, the less-expensive down alternative comforter set can last between five and ten years. No matter which option you choose, you will definitely get your money’s worth in the long run.
I hate my duvet/cover scenario. I want a really wonderful, 1-piece comforter. Machine washable, please. Under $300 for a King would be ideal.
I can run hot but I also love a little weight on me. I’ve been eyeing Quince comforters but will take any recs. Thank you!
EDIT: To clarify — one piece means I don’t want a duvet + insert. Just a comforter… or maybe a quilt since some of those ideas are sounding good.
We purchased a couple different comforters from Macy’s, but had to return both because the quality of poor.
I was hoping to try Amazon, but I don’t trust online reviews anymore and have no frame of reference for quality bedding brands.
I’m looking to spend no more than $100 on a comforter (and no more than $200 on a set if it comes in a set).
As in…it actually hangs over each side of my bed enough to cover the mattress. Our mattress is thick & I hate seeing my high water bedding! 😂
