My priority is to be able to be rear-facing as long as possible so the 6 inches would make a huge difference. I really like the swivel feature but I'm not sacrificing having my son rear facing longer for a little convenience. Additionally, people were saying that as the kid gets older they can get themselves in the car seat so the swivel isn't necessary. I'm going with the Rava. Hoping the black goes on sale at some point but if you don't care about color Nordstrom has the 'refined' color on sale right now. Answer from Papageienkoenigin on reddit.com

In my experience, most modern infant seats are safe when installed correctly. Things that made the biggest difference for me were how easy the harness is to adjust as the baby grows and how heavy the seat feels once there’s actually a baby in it. Some seats are technically great but become a pain once you’re carrying a diaper bag and a sleeping newborn. Comfort wise, babies tend to do better in seats with decent padding and a newborn insert ( like here ) that actually supports their head instead of letting it flop forward. A canopy that actually blocks light and a handle that feels natural in your hand sound small, but you notice them fast when you’re using the seat multiple times a day. Also whatever seat you choose, take 10 minutes to practice tightening and loosening the harness before the baby arrives. It makes those first exhausted weeks way less stressful, and you’re less likely to leave it looser than you meant to More on reddit.com

Nuna Rava Car Seat Review - Consumer Reports
October 23, 2025 - Nuna’s True Tension doors help secure the seat without having to use a lot of muscle, particularly with seat belt installations. The Rava’s price may be a deterrent for some, but at least it has performance that may warrant the price. Consumer Reports has developed a new crash test that offers consumers comparative performance information on which car seats could provide an additional margin of safety when compared with other models within the same ratings group that have been subjected to the same test protocol.

I’m trying to decide which nuna convertible car seat to get and can’t figure it out. I like the idea of the swivel feature for the Nuna Revv but it has a shorter height maximum (43in vs 49). Anyone have thoughts of those 6 inches make a huge difference? My thought was if I did the revv then I would be able to go directly to a booster afterward..or is that not safe? Help!

Checkout the cybex sirona s for a swivel with 49" height limit. Its what we went with for a convertible. We have a 90th percentile baby so need the additional height/weight for extended rear facing.
