What is the perfect comforter for hot sleepers?
What are the best comforters for hot sleepers?
Dr. Winter recommends that in addition to ideal room temperature and light clothes, a cooling comforter that effectively dissipates heat can help hot sleepers achieve optimal sleep. The top cooling comforters incorporate advanced cooling technologies, along with materials like cotton, eucalyptus, and bamboo, which Dr. Dimitriu identifies as the coolest and most effective for dispersing heat and enhancing ventilation.
Can I use a duvet cover with a cooling comforter?
Yes, you can use a duvet cover with a cooling comforter, although some, like the Rest EverCool and the Coop Sleep goods Cool+ lack loops to easily attach a cover and are designed to be used on their own. Designs that are strictly inserts, like Cozy Earth, Lands' End or Silk & Snow, using a duvet for protection is highly recommended. Each comforter is designed to maintain its cooling benefits even when paired with a duvet cover, but choosing a duvet made with breathable cooling materials like cotton, linen, or bamboo can also enhance comfort.
Hey everyone.
I recently bought a new duvet cover (cotton percale) and the lightest down comforter I could find. Despite keeping the room at 64 degrees at night, I'm still hot.
What material would you guys recommend for a hot sleeper like me? Cotton insert? Something else?
If you have any specific products in mind, all I want is a king-sized insert that has loops on the corners so I can tie the insert to the drawstrings that are built into the duvet cover.
Thanks you!
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who responded. I appreciate all the good suggestions. I ended up buying the Your Moon wool blanket. Checked all the boxes of what I was looking for: All natural materials, corner loops, lightweight will still having some heft, and very reasonably priced.
Used it last night for the for the first time and couldn't have been happoer. It was perfect.
Definitely recommend it for other hot sleepers.
