Looking for a cordless vacuum for our house that is almost all hardwood floors. Some tile in there, and a good amount of rugs. Most important to me is something that won't leave scuff marks on the wood floors, and second that we don't need to switch attachments for the rugs. This will also be our primary vacuum, so something of high quality. Willing to spend what I need to if it's worth it.
Right now I'm leaning towards the dyson v12. It has a hardwood floor attachment, but I don't know if that will work at all on rugs. Is the normal attachment safe for wood? we don't want any micro scratches if possible.

Looking for a cordless/stick vacuum for quick cleanups on hardwood floors and daily household use (like food crumbs in the kitchen, cobwebs in the corner of ceiling, etc). I don’t have carpets other than a few low-pile doormats at the front door. Also, no pets as well.
I know a cordless doesn't have strong suction or as well-built as a corded one… but I’d trade it for convenience and ease of use. It’s a PITA having to plug it in every room and watch out for the cord when moving it around.
Budget is around $300 but willing to spend a bit more if it's high-quality, with more parts availability, and could last me a good number of years (assuming I take good care of it).
Any suggestions or advice are much appreciated. Would be great if you lemme know where you bought your vacuum from (online or in-store) so I could take a look at it too! :)
I have newly installed hardwood floors and bought a Miele Triflex that scratched the floors, so then bought a Dyson V15 with the fluffy head and that also scratched them, I’m seriously losing my mind. They both have the plastic bottoms sitting too close to the floor. I have a lab and need a cordless for the daily vacuuming.
Money is no object. I just want the best cordless vac for parquet floors. Sq footage is only 1000 sq ft. No carpet, no pets, just lots of dust accumulating daily as it’s an old building. I already bought the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro as I want something that lasts. I had a Dyson V15 that hasn’t even lasted a year and despite monthly maintenance (taking it apart and scrupulously cleaning everything per their instructions), I can proclaim it is a piece of junk. I need cordless as we have a lot of stairs, moldings, and tile work and our previous Miele canister just got wrecked and was super annoying to drag around. I abhor uprights as they hurt my back. My criteria are: Excellent suction, ease of glide across different surfaces, excellent quality, purpose-built for parquet flooring. Also is there a specific attachment I need to get for parquet floors? Thank you to this community for existing and for not judging my love of cordless vacuums.
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a stick vacuum cleaner for my condo. We have thin flat carpet in the bedrooms and living room and hard wood floors in the remaining areas.
After some research, I found some good options and I'm considering these:
Dyson V15 Detect
Samsung Bespoke Jet
Shark Detect Pro
LG CordZero
Hi, I currently have a Dyson (which I’ve bought a couple of years ago, without consulting Reddit, unfortunately).
I’m looking to buy something better now, with r/VacuumCleaners help this time around.

Noise isn’t a problem, since the sound insulation is pretty good

Only hard floors

4 cats. They don’t shed a lot, but there’s still pet hair here and there

Cordless

Just more convenient than having to haul a big unit from room to room. Especially because we often spot vacuum throughout the day.
-
If I weren’t looking at a cordless vacuum, I’d probably get a Miele C1.
-
I also have a Roomba that I run from time to time. The idea is to use a cordless vacuum for the spots that Roomba can’t get to, and to vacuum hotspots more often.

Can you recommend something that fits these reqs?
Using the search bar, the last time a stick vac for hard floors was brought up was 6 years ago. I need to know what the best cordless stick vac is for hard floors please! I have a full size corded vacuum for my carpet and furniture.
Hi, I recently moved into a 2000 s.f. house with hardwood floors through out. In our last place, we had carpet so this is a new ballpark for me. Does anyone have recommendations for a cordless vacuum. We do have a black lab that at times sheds really bad. I've had my eye on the Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with Power Fins UZ155. I'm not attached to Shark but also don't want to fork out the money for a Dyson also.
My cleaning life has been broom->Swiffer/shop vac. Moving into a new house, ~1200 sq ft, with hardwood floors and tiles soon and want something more mobile/light.
No issues with the shop vac but prefer to keep it in the garage for my car. Never used a traditional vacuum before so not sure what to expect or price. Can I afford the $1k vacuum, yes. But do I want to, not if a lower price one can do the same job for 5-10 years+. No pets or children (yet)
Looking for a new upright, corded, bagless vacuum cleaner that excels at vacuuming hardwood floors, tile, and carpet. My budget is around $500, but I would pay up to $1000 for the right product. Durability and product quality is important. I want to buy something that will last me for many (5-10) years.
So far, I was considering:
Shark Rotator NV501
Shark Lift-Away NV602UKT
Shark Stratos Upright AZ3002
Side-question: Does anyone know what the difference is between the Rotator, Navigator, and Stratos lines?
By the way, I'm not dead-set on getting a Shark — they're just what I'm familiar with and have previous good experiences with. I'm open to all suggestions!
Please help — I never thought buying a new vacuum would be so overwhelming. There are so many options.
Best cordless vac? I have a vacuum but my toddler loves to unplug it and play with the cord, yikes! Be nice to have a cordless to use as a daily.
About 50/50 carpet and hard floors. We do have a golden retriever so definitely has to handle dog fluff!
Prefer under $400 but would go as high as $600 if truly worth it.
I’m thinking a cheap cordless vacuum + mopping will clean hardwood floors just as well as a high quality corded vacuum would.
Am I missing something?
Hey all,
You all steered me so well into getting a Sebo Dart, I wanted to ask about recommendations for a stick vacuum.
It'll be 100% for hard laminate flooring, with a focus on sweeping up the kitty litter my cats track out of the bathroom. We'll also use it for quick sweeps of the kitchen floor. Just a daily quick sweep is likely.
I think that falls well within the use case of a battery stick vacuum. Not a huge demand on it performance wise, but I don't want to buy a junk one that I'll have to throw out soon. My parents have a Dyson stick that has a battery life of 5 minutes now, so I think battery longevity or replacement capability is what I'm concerned with.
Thanks in advance!
