AIO liquid cooled or Noctua Air cooler for i9-14900k
What cooling is needed for i9-14900K?
Does i9-14900K require liquid cooling?
Is 360mm AIO enough for 14900K?
I posted a few days ago about a build I was considering. Someone suggested that the cooler I was looking at can't cool the i9 14900kf CPU I was considering. I tried to look into how to make that determination and... I can't figure it out. Something about wattage. The cooler says what it can handle, but the i9 doesn't say at all what it outputs at.
Because of the variety of coolers out there I included the case I was looking at. In case it's relevant. But for the most part I cant figure out what I should be using.
Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of planning a build around the Intel i9-14900K, inspired by this Puget Systems After Effects setup. They recommend the Noctua NH-U12A, and I’m curious if they've set any power limits or done any undervolting that they haven’t mentioned.
From what I’ve gathered, cooling this CPU effectively can be quite challenging due to its tendency to throttle under load.
In my research, I've noticed that there isn’t a significant real-world difference between 360mm and 420mm AIOs, with many 360mm models outperforming their larger counterparts. I am not interested in delidding and have no preference in appearances. I also recolonize that maybe there a a negligible diffrence between some of these options and I might be confused from over-researching.
Here are the coolers I’m considering:
-
Lian Li Galahad Trinity Performance
-
ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360
-
Deepcool Mystique 360
-
EK-Nucleus AIO CR360
-
SilverStone IceMyst 360
-
ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360
-
CORSAIR iCUE H170i Elite
Could you all help me finalize my decision? Any advice or personal experiences with these models would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
