I am glad to say I've come out of the endless stress of news you find on social media, but I am now caught up on the other side of the spectrum: I am out of the loop of everything, and the "news important enough to reach you will reach you" advise does not offer a satisfactory understanding of events nor is it exactly meticulous. I enjoy a deeper insight and analysis of the subject.
Unfortunately, daily news and podcasts don't work for me, so I've been interested in weekly (and over) magazines. I have heard good things about The Economist, The New Yorker, and Foreign Affairs, but I was wondering if you guys could please suggest other magazines and newsletters that could keep me informed on news and culture.
Extra points if they apply to Canada, if they're in French (to add some language practice), and/or focus on technology, pop culture (I still gotta talk to people! But without the awful reporting please), literature, or arts. But really, any subject works as long as it's higher quality journalism.
This not so much on the subject of digital minimalism but rather a result of it, so please guide me to other subs where this question might fit better if needed. Thank you.
Hi, I wasn’t really sure where I should post this so I guess I’m trying here. I’ve recently become interested in starting a collection of magazines involving fashion, music and general pop culture. The thing is, I’m not really sure what magazines have this stuff. I was thinking of vogue to start off with as that’s the obvious one but I’ve heard they’re getting stale so I was wondering maybe something like GQ or Dazed because I know they’ve had a slushynoobz + drew starkey feature recently 🤭. If you know of any good magazines please let me know!
