Best DAP for streaming Qobuz | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org
April 18, 2023 - I use a Fiio M11 Plus streaming Qobuz and Apple Music, it works flawlessly. You are right to ask what DAPs support streaming because many don’t and some only do via a built in app (seemingly most often Tidal) and some make you mess around ...

r/DigitalAudioPlayer on Reddit: Best DAP just for qobuz
May 23, 2025 -

So yeah, right now I’m just using Qobuz with an iBasso DC04 Pro DAC and IEMs on my phone, but I wanna move to a separate setup. I don’t have my own music library—I only use Qobuz + UAPP for streaming and Qobuz + Wavelet for offline. I’m leaning toward the iBasso DX180, but I’m not sure if it’s overkill just for Qobuz since I don’t plan to keep a local library anyway. The convenience and quality of streaming is enough for me. The DX180 is a bit over my budget right now, but I could wait if it’s the best option. Then there’s the JM21, but the lack of a hold button for the controls kinda bugs me and the battery theme. My other option is the FiiO M21, but there’s not much info out about it yet.

r/DigitalAudioPlayer on Reddit: Best choice for a DAP for Qobuz streaming about 1.000€/$
January 7, 2023 -

Dear all,

I'm looking for a DAP with which I need to listen 95% on Qobuz streaming and 5% on local losseles files, I need also balanced output 4.4 and I want to spend at most about 1.000€/$.

My headphones are HiFiMan HE1000 Stealth and Audeze LCD-3.

As desktop amp I have HiFiMan EF400 and as portable amp I have iFi Gryphon.

I saw some solutions:

- FiiO M11 Plus mkII ESS -> 800€ on Amazon -> seems to be best choice but I see that there is an Android old version (10)

- Fiio M15S -> 1.000€ on Amazon -> as above, there is an Android old version (10)

- HiBy R6 Pro II (Gen 2) -> 770€ on HiBy company website -> I like the latest Android 12 version, but I don't know much about this DAP

What do you think of the winner? Which solution is the best?

Some people have told me not to consider the latest version of Android very much, but they suggest considering the speed and fluidity of the player.

PS: actually as DAP I use an iPhone 11 Pro Max

I have the Hiby R6 Gen 3 (about 500.00 US but on sale here and there ). I love it. Android 12, micro SD card loaded with MP3 and FLAC (mostly FLAC), all the streaming services, pretty quick. I really like it. I almost bought the FiiO M11 Plus but I had a Hiby a few years ago and liked it. Gifted it to a buddy who could not afford...well...anything. He still uses it. Really, it's about what you want and what makes sense to you. I prefer the later Android versions and the speed of the OS. Just my preference. Plus, the Hiby R6 3 has a built-in Class A/AB amp and not only inputs but outputs on the bottom of the unit. Perfect for me. Best of luck.

I just downsized from the FiiO M11 plus ess to the Hiby R6iii. I am prioritising size because they just stream into a Mojo 2. The FiiO maybe sounds a fraction better. But there is no noticeable difference in UI going from Snapdragon 660/A10 to 665/A12. Be aware that newer Android is not always better. The Hiby R6iii is more buggy than the FiiO was. I think because these companies are very new to implementing A12. If you think you can can handle a bit of bulk, get the Hiby R5G2, the Hiby usb-c to coax cable and a Mojo 2. Sound wise that will be significantly better than anything else. The R5G2 is a bit slower than the higher spec'd devices. IMO it is livable if size is your main concern. If I wanted a one box solution for $1k, then I'd be choosing between the Hiby R6 Pro 2 or the FiiO M15s. There are not many reviews comparing them closely. If I were you, using full size cans, I'd probably go for the FiiO for the extra power.

August 2, 2018 - However, one look at the flagship DAPs of the headphone world’s most popular manufacturers – Sony and Astell&Kern – and we see that the finest in portable audio sound quality not only comes at a price – several thousand dollars – but at a cost – zero streaming functionality* [see footnote #1]. For the Music-First Audiophile, that’s some long green to lay down on a second device that won’t talk to Spotify, Soundcloud, YouTube Music or Qobuz.
