r/FortniteCompetitive on Reddit: Best double movement after the new update?
December 20, 2023 -

So i have been trying to find the new optimal double movement settings for the best strafe angles etc after the new movement update. I have seen a lot of different content creators and pros trying to find the new best settings for it but a lot of it seems to be different and i have trouble finding a setting that seems to be generally accepted as the best. Any ideas of what the best double movement settings are as of right now?

Update: These seem to be the most popular right now amongst pros 69-70 71 135

Some people say that going back to 90 on single key strafing is good now (90 was the best with OG movement in my books) but some people say that it is not optimal att all and not close to as good and fast as 71.

Sup boys, saw Peterbot saying on stream that using no double movement fits better his playstyle and he wouldn't use any because it would affect his performance. My question is.. what are the advantages and disadvantages of using double movement settings? I don't know if this is true but i notice my character moving slower when i put it on 70ish, but i would like to know specific stuff that are better with it and without it, thanks. ✌️

Asking here if there’s one with a specific competitive advantage? Im sure someone has done some intensive testing around this. The most popular one I’ve seen is 70/90/135 but is there a particular reason?? Feeels like epic changed this a bit this season because it feels a bit more sluggish staging to the right after the new season. Here are all the pros that I’ve been able to get any information about what they use:

Cooper + Khanads: 70/90/135

Pollo: 74/90/135

EpikWhale: 73/90/135

Pxlarized: ?!???????

Savage + Graal: 64/90/122

You need both custom diagonals in game and on Keys2Xinput. Install keys2x as normal but make sure you don't unbind wasd as it says in the instructions. basically just set up custom diagonals with these settings in game:

Diagonal: 59

Strafe: 72

Now set up keys2x with 59.99 diagonal up and strafe at 89.35 (didn't try the exact cutoff point but its very close to 90).

Now you should move full speed when strafing and its pretty close to 90 degrees too.

First of all, do most pros even use the new in-game double movement? Or are they still use Wooting/Keys2X?

If they are using Epic’s double movement, what values are they using? The default settings or something else?

I understand this is a dead horse and there is a 99% chance this will be the new movement going forward, but I just cannot get used to it. It's objectively worse in ever single way. Sideways's movement is worse (even before double movement was a thing), your character reacts so slowly moving around in boxes.

I've been playing Fortnite since January 2018 nearly 6 years, with 6 years of muscle memory built up, for literally every single aspect of this game, this new movement has made the game horrid to play in Pubs or ranked.

Creative is fine because the movement is "better" since guns in creative give you OG movement mixed in with the new movement, but as soon as I go into pubs I'm like a day one bot, I cannot build, I get absolutely wrecked in situations I would have either won or lost less disgracefully.

I know I need to "just get used to it" but man it's so goddamn annoying, especially when you can't really practice since creative is not 100% the new movement + the new gun mechanics are not in creative.

October 31, 2024 - Recently starting experimenting with the wooting software and you can even change the speed of double movement. You would think an instantaneous curve would be the best or just a linear one but I found that a negative curve is actually what works for me. Eg. when I start turning at 45 degrees it’s a slower / and exponential increase meaning when I’m hitting quick turns I don’t just fly off my builds.

Drop them diagonal movement settings below boys, and reason for your specific settings (if possible).

I believe 65-75 / 90 / 135 is the vast majority of pros.

Pxlarized settings are hidden, but I guess after experimenting that they're ~ 70-75 / 90 / 150.
