The 14 Best Duvet Covers To Protect Your Comforter With Fresh Style
September 30, 2025 - Our pick for the best duvet cover overall is the Brooklinen Luxe Duvet Cover for its wide choice of colors and patterns and its soft, smooth fabric that gets softer with each wash.
What Is The Best Cover For A Duvet?
If you’re in the market for a duvet cover to protect your blanket, we think the best duvet cover overall is the Brooklinen Luxe Duvet Cover. It’s made from the brand’s popular cotton sateen fabric, which is beautifully soft and only gets more comfortable over time—and the cover is easy to put on and launder as needed. The buttery fabric makes for a luxurious night of sleep, and the brand offers its bedding in both plain colors as well as fun and colorful patterns. That ensures finding an option you like regardless of how you want to decorate your bedroom.

What Material Is Best For A Duvet Cover?
For most people, cotton is the best material for a duvet cover, as it’s soft, affordable, durable and easy to care for. You can choose between cotton percale like the L.L. Bean Percale Comforter Cover for a more crisp, breathable feel or cotton sateen like the Avocado Organic Duvet Cover for a softer, smoother fabric. Either way, you can easily wash the cover, and it should last for many years. Linen duvet covers, such as the Parachute Linen Duvet Cover, are another durable and breathable option, but they tend to be more expensive initially. For those who sleep hot, you might want to consider

Why Are Duvet Covers Better Than Comforters?
Comforters are designed to be used without a cover—they often have a colored or patterned exterior so they can be used as the top layer on your bed. However, the main downside to using a comforter is that you have to wash the whole blanket when it gets dirty. If you have a queen- or king-size bed, you may not be able to fit your comforter in the washing machine, forcing you to take a trip to the laundromat or dry cleaner. This can add up quickly if you like to wash your blanket regularly.By comparison, using a duvet and duvet cover makes laundering much easier. Whenever the cover gets dirty, y

Make sure you get a duvet that has the loops to tie this cover to. The pillows are inserted from the back and flap over in the middle. The color is a true white and charcoal grey. The only thing it could have improved is fill the pillow edges with some stuffing to make it a little less floppy. I recommend this to anyone! Very impressed! 7 Best Duvet Covers of 2025, Tested and Reviewed
February 6, 2025 - Since the duvet cover is the most visible piece of bedding, you'll want to consider how easily it wrinkles and if the variety of colors and patterns available fit your style. We prioritized covers with a wide variety of color options in our selections. Weave and Thread Count: Percale is generally the best cooling weave type to look for because it's a looser, one-over-one-under pattern that allows for better air circulation and it has a matte finish.

Brooklinen makes some great sets, but quite a lot are returned cuz of shrinkage or the fabric getting scratchy over time (major ick) For cotton-linen blends, I’d recommend California Design Den or Sijo. Parachute has a nice relaxed look but can be high maintenance and tends to wrinkle heavily. Coyuchi is solid if you want something organic, but their king sizes tend to run a bit snug after a few washes. I’ve seen the most consistent feedback on California Design Den (linking it cuz its a little nicher ig). Its super soft out of the package and holds up well, full shade to brooklinen. All three are reasonably priced and feel higher-end than some of the bigger brand offerings in the same bracket. They also tend to last longer before you see pilling or thread fray. For washing, I usually suggest cold water, gentle detergent, and low tumble dry or hang dry if possible. Avoid fabric softeners or bleach both mess with the finish. If you like a crisper look, toss in a dryer ball or two to soften without chemicals

I got my duvet cover from pottery barn https://www.potterybarn.com/shop/bedding/duvet-covers-shams/ I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, but at least everything from them seems to be good quality. I went with a 100% cotton one from the winter selection that went on clearance a while back and im pretty happy with it. [edit] they still have it, but not in the color that i bought it in. https://www.potterybarn.com/products/stewart-plaid-duvet-cover-shams-multi/ only white is left but not bad for 80$
