In the market for a Dyson and ONLY a dyson. I’ve had one of their roomba type models before (the robo vac situation) and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it got severely damaged during my move so I wanna buy another. Thing is, I’m not sure the roomba style is the best for this house, there’s a lot of furniture close together, it’s not as open a space. Looking for a cordless vac cos I love Dyson’s quality but there’s lots of different options so i’m kinda overwhelmed. The space is kinda cramped and there’s a lot of dust in Arizona so need something that I can maneouver around easily and has insane suction. Any reccs?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. Dyson is junk. None of them are quality or have insane suction. Take a look around this sub, they’re universally hated for good reason.

I've had the v11 and v15. They are pretty similar. The v15 has slightly more suction. Anything from the v11 up will keep you happy. For me the main advantage is once you wall mount the dock in a central location for the house, (in my case it is in the hall linen cupboard) it just comes down to the convenience. You see dirt on the floor, you grab the vacuum and clean it up in real time. When I had a larger corded vacuum the barrier to cleaning was the effort to get it out and plugged in. The advantage of the Dyson over other cordless vacuums is the quality of the cleaning. Both the carpet and hard floor heads get right up against the skirting boards and remove everything. Another nicety is that there is a massive ecosystem of cheep spare parts and extra adapters. I mounted an attachment dock on the wall to hold all the extra heads etc (keeps things neat). The only real downside is the initial price. I agree that they are overpriced but I have so many friends that have got Dyson's and none of them regret their decision. The trick is work out what models you would like and then wait for one of them to come on sale. I just upgraded to a v15 with the mop attachment (fully backwards compatible with all my v11 attachments) and picked it up on sale down from €890 to €550. They seem to do major discounts fairly regularly (at leat in Australia). More on reddit.com
