Hey, I've been looking for the best earbuds for running, sprinting and jogging for a while.
The earbuds I'm using keep falling out and I need earbuds for my small ears. Any recommendations are welcome as I can't run without music!
TIA!
Edit: thanks for your advice, ended up choosing these. They've been great so far!
I’m looking to upgrade my earbuds specifically for running, but every pair I’ve tried either falls out, has weak sound, or dies before I finish my route.
There are so many options out there that I’m honestly overwhelmed. What earbuds have actually stayed in place and sounded good for you while running?
Looking for real experiences especially ones that hold up in sweat, stay secure in motion, and don’t cut out mid-run.

Please don't bother saying "listen to the woods" or whatever.
Under $150 please.
Bluetooth. Buds. Stay in my ears.
Aeropex are my go-to. They are bone conduction so don't sit in your ear at all. Sound isn't amazing but it is surprisingly good and no issues at all with them falling out. Plus you can still hear stuff around you to a certain extent.
Powerbeats. By beats they come either tethered together or singular. Have an over ear rubber part that keep them in. I like them tethered together in case I knock one out it doesn’t go flying. 15 plus hours of listen time. Can be really loud. 119$
I was wondering what are the best earphones or headphones to run with? I see a lot of people with earpod but I'm not very convinced. Any advices appreciated x
Best over-the-ear wireless earbuds for running? Looking for great sound quality…loud and bass. Also long battery life and sweat proof. I have had Beats and JBL and both started glitching and sound was not awesome.
I'm looking for an all-in-one earphone solution, since I really want to be able to go on runs and train in them as well as have good sound quality and ANC. I has been using these very cheap wireless earphones, which you can't run with and want an upgrade too something which will stay in my ears without falling out. I have been looking at the beats fit pro because I have tried them on before and they haven't fallen out of my ears and I liked the fit overall because it has the small inner hook that works really well. However, they are quite old so I'm wondering if its still worth purchasing them, especially since many new earphones have come out.
Another one I've looked at is the new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, which looks very good for quality, but I'm having doubts about whether they will stay in no matter what training I'm doing (running, sprinting, etc), and whether the wing that's attached is any good. If anyone has any other recommendations please mention them as well.
Im looking to pick up a pair of earbuds for running, walking and talking. Im looking for something around the 100$ mark. I have heard good things about the Jabra elite active 75t, any recomendations?
Sorry if for english btw
Dear users,
I am a frequent runner and ran for a while with the Jabra Élite active 7. I choose them because i prefer earbuds and because i thought they had the best ANC. Unfortunately they died on me, and I found out jabra stopt production. Hence it is difficult to find a pair.
So that is why I am searching for a new pair. With the following requirements:
inearbuds
best ANC
waterproof (due to sweat)
good battery life for long runs
I'm going to give you some advice when shopping and present you the top 7 best running headphones available on the market. I made this list in our personal preference and sorted it based on their prices, quality, durability, and reputation of the manufacturers.
Before looking at the list, remember these:
Firstly, avoid any that have a 'super-bass' gimmick or additional ports to allow air venting. I have found that at velocity, the ensuing wind passing over the vents causes too much interference/whistling/whoosing
So then you think, ah ha, sealed in-ear ear buds? These are the best solution I've been happy with. However, be careful in traffic and public places, because the more you seal out external sounds, the more dangerous it becomes. It's the balance of tuning out the world around you to focus on your exercise, versus staying in touch with your surroundings for safety's sake.
Make sure that whichever pair you choose stay in your ear if you start to sweat or move around a lot, that they don't fall out.
For the running earbuds, sometimes the super-sealed off ones aren't so great, because the thud of the foot-to-pavement translates through the earbuds.
Be cognizant of the cord/wire. Some manufacturers out there have replaced the TPU coatings with woven fabric/nylon. The cord brushing against clothes (in the case of running / motion activity) sometimes can translate interference up through ear buds. That's super annoying.
If you are a beginner then a song with beats similar to your cadence can help in maintaining a proper rythem in running. Interesting songs may kill boredom which may come if you are running on a monotonous circular route.
However, I ll caution you about few issues:
Hearing music by earphones on a busy road is a health hazard. You have risk of getting hit be the vehicles coming from behind. Those drivers would presume that you have heard the horn and would more to side, while, you will be oblivious of a fast approaching vehicle.
Risk of hearing loss is a real issue on prolonged headphone use, while running or otherwise.
If you are planning to be a serious runner and participate in races. Then you may have to learn to alter your candence in a controlled way. Now, if you play a song with a low tempo then it may naturally slow you down. There is a reason that none of the advance runners use headphone music. But you can find a lots of amateur runners doing so.

I am training for my first marathon and have run two half's so far this year. Now that I'm running distances into the teen-miles and (soon to be) 20's, I'm discovering my current earbuds are causing more headache than they're worth when worn for that long.
I'm currently using the Bose QCII Ultra Buds, which historically have been fine but once I get past mile 8 the sweat overwhelms the touch pads on the side and causes them to go haywire, starting/stopping music and switching ANC modes. I have to stop running, dry them as much as I can on my wet clothes, and then repeat this every 2-3 miles thereafter.
I got the new Powerbeats Pro II's that just came out, but my ears are too small for their hooks and they moved around quite a bit and sounded like crap. I also tried the Soundcore X20, but again my ears were too small for them to sit well and they moved around quite a bit and had to keep readjusting them during runs.
I am considering trying an open ear design, like the Bose Open Ultra's or Soundcore's model, but I'm hesitant because of how much I sweat around my ears that they would stay in place.
But regardless, what do you all use to run with, how does it work for you, any complaints/would you recommend to a friend?
tl;dr - Looking for headphone suggestions for first marathon which is coming up soon, preferably without a touchpad. I am wondering what you all use to run with, and if you'd recommend them to a friend.
Running headphones are for people who prefer their jogging outside and thus need to be able to hear their surroundings to stay safe.
Choosing the best ones for your needs should let you zone out to your favorite playlist or podcast without bouncing around, cutting out, or getting in your way.
A Lexicon of Listening Language for Active Listeners
IP (Ingress Protection) ratings are going to be important. Ingress Protection is directly related to how well or poorly headphones work when impacted by sweat or rain, after all.
Other terms to familiarize yourself with would be ‘wingtips’ and noise cancelling technology. For the tips, allowances are made to the physical design so that they’ll stay put, no matter the workout or the user’s ear shape. Noise cancelling is self-explanatory, with the devices muting ambient sounds so runners and gym rats can stay focused on their fitness playlist, not the sounds of traffic or your gym buddy’s grunting.
Activity-specific material durability is arguably an even greater headache when shopping for sports oriented gear; no one wants a material that’ll crumble after being exposed to salty perspiration for hours on end. Battery life, Bluetooth stability and reliability, all of these factors and more need to line up and be accounted for when researching the best headphones for running and workouts.
Key Points You Need To Know Before Buying
-
A design that allows some external noise to get in‚ which is of important for safety when running outside.
-
Sweat and water resistance is a must. so their warranties likely won’t cover moisture damage.
-
Comfort is always important, but If they fall out, chafe, or snag, you won’t want to use them.
-
Ease of use matters more than anything. You don’t want to have to stop to skip a track or adjust the volume.

I was hoping for a completely wireless earbud that won't fall out but still has p good music quality! Does anyone have any recommendations?
UPDATE: thought I should also mention I get super sweaty during my run so that's why I mentioned earbuds falling out. Anything waterproof would be good but not like the end of the world if it's not haha
I got Trekz Air a few months ago, which are bone conducting rather than ear pods. Changed. My. Life. You can hear ambient surrounding noise a lot better, so I'm aware of people, bike and traffic and less startled by people passing close by. I also got caught in a rain storm with them halfway through a 3 hour bike ride and they came out a-ok water wise.
I don't know that much about other brands so maybe there's something better out there, but my AirPods haven't fallen out once in the hundreds of times I've ran with them!
Hi all,
I almost feel bad for posting on this topic but I looked through the sub and can't find what I'm looking for. I'm currently in the market to buy truly wireless earbuds and can't make up my mind. I've read ample reviews on the Jabra elite active 65t and they seem like almost the best way to go except the price, but if someone can convince me on it then be my guest. I've also looked into Skullcandy Indy wireless headphones and everything I've read so far I've liked but haven't seen any reviews for them on Reddit in general. The last pair I've considered is the Anker Liberty Air, but the 2nd generation isn't available in my area. All that being said, what is y'alls advice? I typically run about 3mi in the gym so I'm not that concerned with not being aware of my surroundings.
Thanks in advanced!
Edit: thanks for all the feedback! I really appreciate it and will look into what y'all posted about but I'm really looking for truly wireless earbuds. I'm not sure why, but the wire that connects the two sides bouncing around just really bothers me.
What brand and model of earbuds do you recommend for runners that sweat a lot and why? Preferably wireless/Bluetooth. Go!
What earphones do you recommend for running?
I don’t mind too much about the price, the most important part is that they don’t fall out, and have decent sound quality.
and i mean sweaty. i currently use airpods and they slip out of my ears from the sweat, gross, i know. i was running on the treadmill and my airpod launched off the belt when it tumbled off my ear because i sweat so much
I’m trying to upgrade my earbuds specifically for workouts, but I’m honestly struggling to figure out which ones are actually worth it. There are so many choices now, and every review seems to hype a different pair.
What I really want is a pair that stays secure during movement, sounds great, and doesn’t cut out or feel uncomfortable when I’m sweaty. Battery life and durability matter too, since I use them for runs, gym sessions, and long walks.
Some options I keep seeing around are:
Beats Fit Pro
Jaybird Vista 2
Jabra Elite Active 75t
Powerbeats Pro
I have JBLs that fall out all the time. Same with apple airpods. Looking into over the ear options. For running, i am thinking that 'open ear' is safer, esp bc i am running in the city. What ear buds do people like?
