Super fast charing appears when you are using the fastest 25W or 45W charging your phone can take (I know some models don't support 45W). That needs a Samsung 25W or 45W charger because Samsung's Superfast charge needs USB 3.0 PPS capable chargers and they're not common. Anker's Power IQ 3.0 charging claims compatibility though. This one for example: https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Anker-Charging-Samsung-Included/dp/B08XQRCPG4 If your phone just says "fast charging" it's charging at around 18W. It doesn't matter that you're using a 65W charger. What happens is when you plug in the charger and the device, they sort of show each other notes of what they support commonly. Since your 65W charger apparently doesn't support 25W PPS, but supports QC 2.0/3.0 which is 18W fast charging, and Samsung also supports 18W QC 2.0/3.0 fast charging, you get the fast charging notification and charge at 18W. r/Android on Reddit: Recommendations on Chargers & Cables for your Android Phones
April 22, 2023 -

Here are some things I have learned over the years, especially since fast and super fast charging have made an appearance. I'd like to share in hopes I can help some of you out there.

  • there is a significant difference in charging speeds during super fast charging vs fast charging, although I only truly see that significant difference when the phone's battery is between 0-50% (in other words, it's most useful if you consistently see your battery on the low end of charge, and you need to get it up quick).

  • due to the modern design of our phones (at least to my knowledge), you cannot use too high of a wattage of a charger. The phone simply won't let it (or the cable) go past whatever the highest wattage the phone will accept - so no worries there.

  • over the past few years, phone have continued to improve on charging speeds, and one large factor is an increase in wattage on what the phone will accept. In order to fully utilize the S23's fast charging, you must use a 45W charger, while the S20 only requires a 25W charger.

  • it is much more important to focus on the quality of the wall charger than the cable itself; the cable simply transfers whatever the wall charger is pulling from your wall. The worst than can happen (again, from experience and research) is the cable breaking, not transferring the full wattage needed, or simply not transferring at all.

  • I either usually choose to go with Samsung or Anker wall chargers, as the Anker chargers are a well known quality product that is certified to charge Android and Apple phones (if you ever needed to charge both types of phones, you wouldn't need to worry). Their cables are also Mifi Apple Certified.

  • when it comes to cables, I generally find a brand that is nylon braided, with at least 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and with at least a few hundred reviews - the more the better. I haven't had an issue since, and it has saved me big time at least in the cost department when it comes to buying cables other than Anker.

I hope this can help some of you out there, and if there's anything you want to suggest or correct me on, I'd love to hear.

TLDR; any cheap charger should charge a device slowly, 20w or more charger should give you fast charging with proper cable, and Anker IQ 3.0 will provide Super Fast Charging

Super Quick Question....Please don't just lock the post and direct me to a prior "This has been discussed...There's a genuine clarification question and I've read/referenced other posts here

I own a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. I went through a period of time during 2020 that my Note 20 stopped "Fast Charging" ... I was using one of Aukey's Dual Wall Chargers, and an Anker wall Charger, and neither were getting the "fast charging" notification...They were all type A to C... I think at 25W?... Saw on this Post that referenced this forum post That the note 20 ultra doesn't support the Galaxy 10+'s 45W Super Fast Charging or something like that....I can't quite follow, nor understand Forum Posts when they're older, Information Changes.

I just need someone to Explain it to me a little bit. What is the best charger for the Note 20 Ultra for the best charging possible. I'm Currently using this Which works well enough for the fast charge. I am concerned about sending 65W to a 25W max device. obviously there's safeguards and the USB is smart enough to not Surge itself as long as I'm not using some DYI Charger. I just want to know am I using a chainsaw to cut steak here? or What would be the most efficient; price/power/usability option.

I keep being tossed around forums and posts saying "25W is max" -> "45W Works fine" -> "You need 65W for the super fast, uber power charger" or "only use what's in the box"....I'm typically very understanding of new tech, but when Samsung decides to NOT provide Max charging potential to it's newest devices, and I only find out after I've purchased one, or even worse, when an update changes the parameters to getting the notification and I worry about whether or not my phone will actually be fully charged when I have to work for 8-12h and don't want my phone dying because I walked in with 75% or some stupid reason

Update 1: 09/06/2021 I purchased Anker's Nano and it does provide the 25w fast charge, but that's about it... I've also ordered 2 more anker chargers to test; the Second is only IQ 3 PD and the Final one which was slightly pricier than I'd like, is PPS PD IQ 3...I'm hoping that by Wednesday when the 3rd charger comes in, I'd be able to answer my question and have this somewhere on the internet so people can know the degrees of charge...

Update 2: 9/8/2021 The 2nd Anker Charger Came in, and This is the Powerport III came in Last Night, and testing the charge, it DOES provide "Super Fast Charging" for Samsung Devices. SO Power IQ 3.0 is sufficient enough to supplement "Super Fast Charging"

Okay I have gone through three different chargers now. One melted (literally got soft), one just stopped charging above 20W randomly and the third overheats to the point that I could fry an egg on it.

So I need a new one that will mainly charge my Pixel 7 and mine and son's combined Ipad pro. Ideally a 65W GAN charger with a bonus PPS support would do it for me. But occasionally I end up putting it on charging all night so I won;t mind if it can support overnight charging as well.

My colleague recommended baseus nomos, it checks most of the boxes. But I am open to other recommendations as well.

I know it’s been asked a lot but I wanted to ask a few stuff

I know there are 100W and 240W cables

Okay for the charger. I am looking for around a max of ~140W bit more would be better

I want to be able to charge at least 3 things at the time, one port has to be able to give ~100W

I would like for it to not warm up to much. I am willing to sacrifice some size and weight for it to to warm up less.

Any recommendations?

And if you're looking to buy a proper fast charger for your andriod phone like Samsung or OnePlus, how do you choose the right one? Let's find out. Some chargers today are super fast—over 100W, with some going to 140W or even 240W. But your phone won’t charge at those speeds unless it supports them. In short: the charger’s max speed is one thing, your Android phone’s limit is another.

r/anker on Reddit: Best USB C and A charger for Android phone
April 29, 2022 -

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a phone plug charger for an Android phone (Huawei P20) that has both USB C and A with fast charging. The reason for needing USB A is due to the charging cable I have at the moment and backwards compatibility in general.

I'm not sure if I need a 65W, more or less phone charger as I've noticed the plug charger state 65W for example which is shared between both USB C and A ports so not sure how much power is needed. I would like fast charging that can support different Android phone brands for future compatibility as oppose to one that uses some proprietary fast charging technology.

The Anker 725 looks good. There are some cheaper options but I'm not sure if it's worth investing in one with more power such as the Anker 725. I'm looking to spend up to £30.

Thanks

r/Android on Reddit: Super fast charging is so underrated.
August 21, 2023 -

I got my first Oneplus phone earlier this year and the fast charging is such a nice convenience. I thought it'd just be a gimmick I wouldn't care about, but its something I take advantage of basically everyday. I also used to think that it'd be really bad for the battery because the phone would get hot, but Oneplus does a pretty good job of keeping the heat in the charging brick itself. The phone doesn't get any warmer than I've experienced with other phones.

In the past I've used Pixels and Galaxys and they tend to claim they have fast charging, but in reality its pretty slow. My old Fold 3 took ~1.5 hours to fully charge.

For comparison, the Oneplus 11 I replaced it with fully charges in under half an hour, usually closer to 25 minutes (though I very rarely actually charge up to 100%).

I bought a second charger to keep in my backpack and it basically completely removes any battery anxiety that I used to have. The other day I was out after work and my phone was down to 5%. I saw that I was near a used bookstore, so I went in and charged my phone for 5 minutes while I looked around and I was back up to 35%, enough for several hours of screen on time.

My charger (S24U) has started going to shit and constantly connects/disconnects. I'm wanting to pick up a replacement, but wondering if I can do better than the one it came with. I've gotten in the habit of charging it with the charger that came with my Rog Ally, which is super fast but I don't know if it's good for it. Any recommendations much appreciated

Some of our phones are a One Plus 13, S25 Ultra, Pixel 10, and others and the OP SUPERVOOC charger although the most powerful is useless for the S25 or Pixel, the Samsung 45W is charges much slower than it can for the OP or the Pixel as the pixel needs at least PPS 21V.

I can keep going but I am sick of having to buy a new charger for every new phone, and making sure I use the right one.

Does a charger exist that can charge every device at the maximum speed with no exceptions?
