I just built a wooden deck that I would like to put my fire pit on. I'm looking for a mat to help protect the deck since I use the fire pit quite often. Most of the ones I see on Amazon have mixed reviews. Have any of you had a good experience with any particular brand?

Fireproof mat for deck
I know this isn’t what you’re wanting, but I have a Yukon and a new wood deck… I placed a flattened cardboard box underneath it last burn and checked the box when done. there wasn’t a single mark on the box. I’ve had the Yukon for 2 years now, trust me it won’t hurt the deck. I put it up in the garage in the summer, deck looks totally untouched so far. More on reddit.com

I heard there was a campfire mat that is fireproof that you lay on the rocks before building the fire that might help? Is that true? Hey everyone, we want to use our Bonfire on our wooden deck - and we have the little ring stand that the stove sits on - but my family is paranoid that the heat will mess up the deck. To be extra safe, can anyone recommend a fireproof mat to put under it? I’m looking on Amazon and there are so many but all mixed reviews.. Thanks for your advice!

Unless of course you are Mr. Fancy then you can use the Spinaker approach and have color coordinated ones that end up nasty and possibly burned up and have to be replaced anyway.
