Amazon changed its video platform and has made the “free” part hard to find without ads. I don’t know where to find some of the best anymore. Everyday there are changes in price and channel. Lately I go to JustWatch.com to find best pricing and sources. r/AmazonPrimeVideo on Reddit: Suggestions of free shows/movies free with Amazon Prime?
August 29, 2023 -

I’ve got almost all the streaming services (Netflix, Max, Showtime, Paramount, Peacock, Apple etc). I also have Amazon Prime since I order a lot of things off Amazon. I’ve tried looking for good shows through Amazon Prime but almost never find them, so I haven’t been looking lately.

With the strikes in Hollywood, I notice my watch queues are dwindling so I thought I’d give Prime a chance again. Would love suggestions for either shoes or movies (but I prefer bingeable shows).

Here are shows I really love:

  • Severance

  • Silo

  • Physical

  • Ted Lasso

  • Homecoming (that was on Prime a couple years ago and I liked it a lot)

  • The Crown

  • The Queens Gambit

  • The Good Wife and The Good Fight

  • Documentaries (based on politics, space, or technology)

  • The Witcher

  • Game of Thrones

  • Not Okay

  • Yellowjackets

  • The Great

  • Handmaid’s Tale

  • The Undoing

  • Big Little Lies

Probably a bunch more I’m forgetting. I like thrillers, mystery, dystopia, prestige tv, political stuff

Best Free Movies With Amazon Prime - Reddit
Also not sure if on Prime, I get all the streaming services mixed up, but I always recommend Bone Tomahawk as a great slow burn and probably the best horror western out there. ... One that I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the movie Resolution. Slow burn, very strange. Cosmic horror with a VERY cool premise. More on the low budget side. You may also want to watch The Endless as well after. For… reasons. It is on Amazon Prime for free (with ads) on the Freevee side

r/movies on Reddit: Amazon Prime have pretty good free movies

I like watching movies where the artist morphs into the role; I become obsessed with watching the actor. I also like a slow build where you learn the characters. Watching human behavior is fascinating to me and I found this in:

“Wade in the Water,” is a very good, steady movie about a man who kills a child molester and befriends the daughter of the molester. I want to see more of the main character. I love him.

“Flu” is an Asian foreign film about a virus—pretty much like what we are going through. Well written and the little girl is AMAZING. I have to wonder if she is much older than what she is portraying.

“My Uncle Frank” is a good old southern movie about the dysfunctional family and the complicated life of a gay professor who moves to and teaches in NY where his young niece joins him and learns about her uncle.

Worth the watch if you enjoy watching a laid back movie.

4 weeks ago - She instead started watching "14 Chrimstas Cartoon Classics". I asked her how she was watching it. I checked the account and we aren't Prime members. I don't have a credit card charge. I logged into my Amazon account and sure enough there are a bunch of movies I can watch for free.

I’m currently led in bed really ill and binging movies.

Please give me your recommendations, im pretty open to all genres but I guess my favourite genres are sci-fi, thriller, fantasy. Dont mind a bit of horror. I like films that are either visually stunning or really mess with your head/make you think.

October 30, 2025 -

I'm at my parents house for the day and have time to watch a movie or two. They only have Prime, which I don't have, so I'd like to take the opportunity.

Some of my favorite movies include:

The Crow (1994)

Beetlejuice

Heathers (1988)

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Princess Bride

Spiderverse films

Puss n Boots: The Last Wish

Suspiria (Both 1977 and 2018)

Together

Studio Ghibli films (Any that I've seen)

I know it's a unique list, but I figured it gives a good idea of my taste. If anyone has any Amazon Prime recommendations similar to any of the above listed films, I'd appreciate it. Happy Hallow's Eve!

Edit: I'm in the U.S. if that matters for region

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for movie recommendations available on Amazon Prime that are absolute classics—the kind of films so timeless and rewatchable that Amazon could probably live off their copyright forever. Think movies you’ve seen a dozen times and still wouldn’t skip if they came on.

Such as the matrix.

What else would you add? Any genre is welcome—drama, sci-fi, comedy, thriller—as long as it’s endlessly rewatchable and feels like it’ll never get old.

Thanks in advance!

r/movies on Reddit: Are there any worthwhile Prime Video exclusive movies?
May 28, 2025 -

Prime video is primarily known for their TV Shows, and deservedly so, I'm a massive Invincible Fan, and as screwed up as The Boys can be, it's another favorite. However I've barely seen any Prime Video exclusive films, only ones ive seen are Candy Cane Lane & Another Simple Favor, both of which were meh at best, but pretty much garbage. Are there any exclusive films that are good? I am specifically looking for ones that don't have physical editions, since I can be assured I won't miss out on those forever.. Id also love to hear about any MAX or Peacock exclusives since I'm not as aware of their pure exclusives as I am with Netflix or Apple TV+. Thanks in advance!
